Job Description
A digital marketer is responsible for planning, executing, and optimising online campaigns across channels like SEO, social media, email, and paid ads to drive brand awareness, leads, and sales. The role combines strategy, content, analytics, and tools to grow a company’s presence and revenue in the digital space.
Core responsibilities
• Plan and run digital campaigns across SEO, SEM/PPC, social media, email, and content marketing to meet traffic, lead, or sales.
• Create or coordinate content (posts, ads, blogs, landing pages, emails) aligned with brand voice and campaign objectives.
• Monitor performance using analytics tools (e.g., Google Analytics, ad managers), track KPIs, and optimise campaigns for better ROI.
• Conduct market and audience research to identify trends, customer needs, and new digital opportunities or channels.
• Collaborate with designers, developers, sales, and management to ensure consistent messaging and smooth execution across touchpoints.
Typical daily tasks
• Create and schedule social media posts and manage community engagement (comments, DMs, queries).
• Write and send email campaigns or newsletters, and segment or clean email lists for better performance.
• Optimise website pages and blogs for SEO, including keyword research, meta tags, and internal linking.
• Set up and manage paid ad campaigns (Google Ads, Meta Ads, etc.), adjusting bids, creatives, and audiences.
• Prepare performance reports, highlight insights, and suggest next actions to improve conversions and reduce costs.
Required skills and tools
• Channel skills: SEO/SEM, social media marketing, content marketing, email marketing, and PPC campaign management.
• Analytical skills: Ability to work with web analytics, ad dashboards, A/B testing, and data-driven decision-making.
• Creative skills: Copywriting, basic design or familiarity with creatives, and understanding of user journeys.
• Tools: CMS platforms (e.g., WordPress), analytics tools (Google Analytics), ad platforms, email/marketing automation tools, and social media schedulers.
Qualifications and experience
• Usually a bachelor’s degree in marketing, communications, business, or a related field is preferred but not always mandatory.
• 1–3 years of experience in marketing or digital marketing for executive/specialist roles; fresher roles focus more on internships and project work.
• Certifications in areas like Google Ads, Analytics, Meta ads, or recognised digital marketing programs can strengthen credibility.
