Earthing Design Engineer

We are looking for a skilled Lightning Protection & Earthing Design Engineer with at least 2 years of experience in analysing electrical projects and designing compliant, efficient, and reliable lightning protection and earthing/grounding systems. The ideal candidate should have strong technical expertise, understanding of global standards, and the ability to deliver precise engineering designs for commercial, industrial, and infrastructure projects.

Key Responsibilities

• Analyse project drawings, technical documents, SLDs, and site requirements.
• Design complete Lightning Protection Systems (LPS) including air terminals, down conductors, bonding, and surge protection.
• Design Earthing/Grounding systems for buildings, substations, telecom, solar plants, data centres, etc.
• Perform soil resistivity analysis and calculate earth pit/grid sizing.
• Prepare detailed BOQs, technical datasheets, system layouts, calculation sheets, and design reports.
• Ensure designs comply with standards such as IEC 62305, IEEE 80, NBC, IS/IEC standards, and client specifications.
• Coordinate with sales, production, and site teams for technical support.
• Provide guidance for installation best practices and troubleshoot design issues.
• Review vendor documentation and ensure technical accuracy.
• Participate in meetings with clients, consultants, and contractors when required.

Required Skills & Qualifications

• Bachelor’s degree in Electrical Engineering.
• Minimum 2 years experience in earthing/grounding or lightning protection design.
• Strong knowledge of IEC 62305, IEEE 80, IS 3043, and related electrical safety standards.
• Experience with design tools such as AutoCAD, ETAP (optional), or equivalent.
• Understanding of soil resistivity testing and grounding system modelling.
• Ability to interpret complex electrical and civil drawings.
• Excellent analytical, documentation, and communication skills.
