Sushi Commi

Job Summary:The Sushi Commis Chef assists in the preparation and presentation of sushi and other Japanese dishes under the supervision of senior chefs. This role is ideal for someone passionate about Japanese cuisine and eager to learn traditional and modern sushi techniques.

• Key Responsibilities:Assist in preparing sushi items such as nigiri, maki, sashimi, and rolls
• Ensure all ingredients are fresh, properly stored, and handled hygienically
• Support senior chefs in daily kitchen operations
• Maintain cleanliness and organization of the sushi station
• Follow recipes, portion control, and presentation standards
• Prepare mise en place for service
• Ensure compliance with food safety and hygiene standards
• Assist in receiving and storing deliveries
• Learn knife skills and fish handling techniques
