Location: Mumbai, India

Role Description

The European Portfolios Group is a principal investment franchise which is drawn from Structured Credit, Commercial Real Estate and Distressed Products Group. The desk has been an active participant in the European and Emerging markets portfolios market since the inception of the current deleveraging phase in early 2010. The team is mandated to seek and acquire loan portfolios (residential and consumer, individual and SME, secured and unsecured, performing and non–performing) across Europe.

The team offers a one-stop solution to European clients divesting pools of non-core assets, through:

  • Directly purchasing portfolios for its own account
  • Acting as equity partner and leverage provider to its client base of private equity and hedge fund sponsors active in this space

Your key responsibilities

  • End to end deal cycle including data analysis, deal modeling, asset/legal/operational due diligence
  • Deal monitoring through the life of the transaction (post execution)
  • Efficient handling and analysis of the historical data utilizing various tools (Microsoft Excel, VBA, Microsoft Access, as appropriate), with the ultimate aim of:-
  • Creating a better understanding of the pool
  • Calculating relevant measures of historical performance
  • Building financial models to project future cash flows of the pool

Your skills and experience

  • Strong technical and quantitative academic background from a top tier business or engineering school
  • Knowledge of finance and Real Estate preferred though not a pre-requisite
  • Proficiency in MS Excel, VBA
  • Excellent communication skills
  • Desire to work in a fast paced, challenging environment
  • Individual with a commitment & motivation for self-development and growth
  • Superior analytical aptitude and problem solving abilities
