We are seeking an experienced Assistant Project Manager (Finishes) to oversee finishing works for a multi-story residential tower project. The successful candidate will manage and coordinate all interior finishing activities including blockwork, gypsum installation, plastering, tiling, painting, and related trades to ensure quality delivery within schedule and budget parameters.

Key Responsibilities

Project Coordination & Management Assist the Project Manager in planning, coordinating, and supervising all finishing work activities from blockwork through final paint application. Develop and maintain detailed work schedules for finishing trades, ensuring proper sequencing and coordination between different work packages. Monitor project progress against established timelines and implement corrective actions when delays occur.

Quality Control & Compliance Conduct regular quality inspections of blockwork, gypsum partitions, plaster finishes, tiling installations, and painting work to ensure compliance with project specifications and industry standards. Coordinate with quality assurance teams to address defects and ensure rework is completed to acceptable standards. Maintain detailed quality control documentation and punch list management.

Trade Coordination & Supervision Oversee and coordinate multiple finishing subcontractors including masons, plasterers, tilers, painters, and gypsum specialists. Conduct daily coordination meetings with trade supervisors to address scheduling conflicts, material requirements, and technical issues. Ensure all work is executed in accordance with approved drawings, specifications, and safety protocols.

Resource & Material Management Monitor and track material deliveries, storage, and consumption for all finishing works. Coordinate with procurement teams to ensure timely availability of materials including blocks, gypsum boards, tiles, paints, and related supplies. Manage material waste and ensure efficient utilization to control project costs.

Documentation & Reporting Prepare daily progress reports, weekly status updates, and monthly project summaries for senior management. Maintain comprehensive project documentation including method statements, inspection reports, material certificates, and as-built drawings. Coordinate with design teams to resolve technical queries and document approved changes.

Required Qualifications

Education & Experience Bachelor's degree in Civil Engineering, Construction Management, or related field. 7-8 years of hands-on experience in construction project management with specific expertise in finishing works for high-rise residential or commercial projects. Proven track record managing multiple finishing trades simultaneously.

Technical Skills Comprehensive knowledge of finishing work processes, materials, and installation techniques. Proficiency in project management software, scheduling tools, and Microsoft Office applications. Strong understanding of building codes, safety regulations, and quality standards applicable to high-rise construction.

Core Competencies Excellent leadership and team management abilities with experience supervising diverse trade teams. Strong communication skills for effective coordination with subcontractors, consultants, and senior management. Problem-solving capabilities with ability to make quick decisions under pressure. Detail-oriented approach to quality control and project documentation.
