Assistant Manager - Capital Projects

As one of fastest growing practice in DAS, Infrastructure and Climate Advisory (ICA) team at KGS invites like-minded professionals to help us drive progress and change. At KGS ICA practice, you will work as part of a multidisciplinary team across a range of industries to assist public and private sector organizations involved in infrastructure to deliver desired outcomes, whether for society or for businesses. We are the Centre of Excellence for KPMG’s Global practices, helping our clients better understand evolving policy and regulatory environment, business and commercial risks, as well as providing commercial and strategic advice on complex infrastructure and capital projects. You will work on wide range of infrastructure sectors including transport, energy, digital as well as social infrastructure, with diverse clientage such as public sector entities, infrastructure owners, project developers, large corporates, contractors, equity investors and financers.

The role will be based out of KPMG’s Mumbai office and liaise cross-functionally with leaders across the business to drive internal and external engagement.

As an integral member of our ICA team, your responsibilities include, but are not limited to:

Delivering Client Engagements:

•Lead the delivery of projects, support in designing new processes and tools with an end-user focus and producing high quality outputs with attention to detail.•Keeping up to date with key developments around your work area, identifying opportunities for thought leaderships and assisting development of KPMG opinion in your areas of work.•Understanding broader suite of services offered by the infrastructure team and identifying opportunities to collaborate and design unique solutions for our clients.

Business Development:

•Strategize and drive growth across the infrastructure sectors through development of market packs/collaterals•Support member firms in business development initiatives, including preparation of proposals and bid responses

Stakeholder Management:

•Cultivate and maintain strong relationships with onshore and clients, understanding their objectives to provide tailored solutions.

Mandatory  technical & functional skills

•Strong command of the end-to-end project management lifecycle, covering planning, execution, monitoring, controls, and risk management.•Strong project controls capability: WBS, integrated master schedule, critical path tracking, forecasting, variance analysis, and (where used) EVM concepts.•Solid grasp of Power & Utilities and Transportation sub-sector value chains, including typical delivery lifecycles and key risk drivers.•Familiarity with core sector program types and delivery phases—e.g., transmission/substation (Power & Utilities) and metro/rail/highway/aviation/ports (Transport) —across design, build, test, commissioning, and operational readiness.•Ability to leverage AI-enabled tools in project management to enhance project delivery and decision-making through faster insights, automation, and improved reporting.•Hands-on experience with specialist tools such as Scheduling P6, MSP, PRA, @Risk, Predict is a value add.•Knowledge of using different software/applications including Microsoft Office Suite (PowerPoint, Excel, Word, MS Project), Power BI, Alteryx, and Power Apps (preferred not mandatory).
