Associate Director, CPAM

About ICA

As one of fastest growing practice in DAS, Infrastructure and Climate Advisory (ICA) team at KGS invites like-minded professionals to help us drive progress and change. At KGS ICA practice, you will work as part of a multidisciplinary team across a range of industries to assist public and private sector organizations involved in infrastructure to deliver desired outcomes, for society and businesses. We are the Centre of Excellence for KPMG’s Global practices, helping our clients to develop better understanding of the evolving policy and regulatory environment, business and commercial risks, as well as providing commercial and strategic advice on complex infrastructure and capital projects. You will work on a wide range of infrastructure sectors including transportation, digital and social infrastructure (education, healthcare), with diverse clientage a diverse range of clientele such as public sector entities, infrastructure owners, project developers, large corporates, contractors, equity investors, and financers.

The role will be based out of any of KPMG’s offices (Gurugram /Bangalore/ Mumbai)  and liaise cross-functionally with leaders across the business to drive internal and external engagement.

Our Major Projects Advisory team is a growing team of multidisciplinary specialists, with expertise in complex program delivery and associated areas. The incumbent is expected to operate in a leadership role, helping scale the business with highest customer satisfaction.

Diving into the key activities and expectations for this position, you will be responsible for the following:

Practice Leadership

Strategic Leadership & Vision: Define and drive the strategic direction of the Major Projects Advisory Centre of Excellence (CoE), aligning with global priorities and market trends in capital project delivery.Capability Development & Innovation: Build and scale specialized capabilities in Strategic delivery partnerships, Program management, project controls, cost and schedule assurance, and digital enablement; foster innovation through adoption of emerging tools and methodologies.   Team Building & Talent Management: Recruit, mentor, and lead a high-performing team; develop training programs, knowledge assets, and career pathways to nurture future leadersQuality & Process Excellence: Establish and enforce delivery standards, QA/QC protocols, and best practices across engagements to ensure consistency, efficiency, and excellence.Collaboration & Knowledge Sharing: Facilitate collaboration across global KPMG teams and service lines; promote cross-border knowledge exchange and leverage international expertise.Sales & Business Development: Lead business development initiatives including proposal creation, client pitches, and relationship management; achieve defined sales and revenue targets through strategic growth of the team’s portfolio.

 

Client Delivery Role

Integrated Project Controls : Design and implement integrated project controls frameworks covering planning, scheduling, cost management, and performance tracking using tools like Primavera, BIM, and ERP systems.Schedule & Risk Management : Lead schedule development, critical path analysis, and risk analytics; apply methodologies such as CCPM, TOC, and EVM to optimize timelines and mitigate delivery risks.Cost Intelligence & Benchmarking: Provide cost estimation, forecasting, and benchmarking services; leverage data analytics and industry insights to drive capital efficiency and transparency.Governance & Assurance : Advise clients on governance structures, procurement strategies, and contract management; ensure alignment with regulatory standards and project objectives.Stakeholder Engagement : Act as a trusted advisor to senior stakeholders including CXOs and public sector leaders; facilitate alignment and decision-making across diverse stakeholder groups.Digital Enablement & Reporting : Develop and deploy digital dashboards and reporting tools for real-time project insights; support clients in adopting technology for enhanced project visibility and control.

Qualifications and experience

A Master’s degree in Engineering, Management, or a related field; professional certifications such as MRICS, PMP, APM, or equivalent are preferred.12–15 years of experience in capital project advisory, project controls, cost intelligence, or Complex program managementProven experience in managing delivery centers or CoEs focused on infrastructure or capital projects.Familiarity with tools such as Primavera, BIM, Digital Twin, ERP systems, and cost/schedule analytics platforms..

Technical and Domain experience

Deep understanding of project lifecycle phases, cost drivers, and performance levers in infrastructure projects.Experience in implementing methodologies such as OTIF,TOC, CCPM, earned value management, and lean construction.Knowledge of industry-standard contract forms and global best practices in capital project delivery..

Key behavioral attributes/requirements

Personal drive and positive attitude to deliver results within tight deadlines and in demanding situations.Effective written and verbal communication skills and good inter-personal skills to work effectively in a team.Self-motivated, driven individual. Track record of strong people leadership including hiring, performance management, managing diverse teams across geographically spread offices, working in a multicultural environment
