Associate Manager- Mechanical Transport( Fire)
Responsibilities
Routine Maintenance and Repair Execution:
Perform scheduled and routine maintenance tasks on airport mechanical transport assets, including checking and replacing fluids, inspecting mechanical components, and addressing wear and tear.
Diagnose mechanical issues using specialized diagnostic tools, troubleshooting and conducting repairs on components as needed and coordinate with the Lead for guidance on more complex repairs, or recommend further service for issues beyond the team’s immediate capabilities.
Operational Support for Ground Transport:
Conduct daily inspections of all ground vehicles to identify any immediate issues that might affect their performance, such as tire wear, fluid levels, and visible mechanical damage.
Provide prompt response to urgent repair needs of all vehicles, baggage handling systems, runway removal machines and other mechanical transport assets, such as addressing breakdowns or malfunctions on the runway or other operational areas, to reduce disruptions to airport operations and support high-priority repair needs during peak times and coordinate with operations staff to quickly resolve any ground transport issues.
Compliance with Maintenance Standards:
Follow detailed protocols and procedures for all maintenance tasks, ensuring all work meets company standards as well as regulatory requirements set by the airport authority and adhere to detailed checklists and quality control measures to maintain uniformity and consistency in equipment upkeep.
Maintain accurate and detailed logs of all repairs, inspections, and parts usage, ensuring proper documentation is available for compliance audits and future reference.
Safety Procedures and Risk Management:
Adhere strictly to all safety guidelines when performing maintenance tasks, including wearing the proper personal protective equipment (PPE) and following established safety protocols.
Identify and report any safety hazards, such as spills, worn-out parts, or equipment issues, that could impact the safety of team members or operations.
Inventory Management Support:
Monitor usage of parts and tools on a daily basis, ensuring that all necessary items are available for upcoming maintenance tasks and report any low inventory or shortages to the Lead, allowing timely reordering to prevent delays in maintenance.
Keep the workshop and storage area organized and clean, arranging tools and parts systematically to enable easy access and prevent work disruptions and perform periodic inventory counts to assist in keeping records accurate and up to date.
Collaboration with Team Members:
Communicate effectively with other technicians and team members to coordinate on shared maintenance tasks, assisting with larger or more complex projects as needed and support the team by sharing best practices and helping troubleshoot difficult repairs.
Provide guidance to junior technicians or apprentices, sharing expertise on vehicle systems and repair techniques to foster team growth and a collaborative environment and contribute ideas for improving maintenance efficiency and streamlining processes to better serve airport operations.

Qualifications
Educational Qualifications:
Bachelor’s degree in Mechanical Engineering, Automotive Engineering, or a related field.
Certifications in automotive or mechanical maintenance (e.g., ASE certification) preferred.
Training in airport operations or ground handling is an added advantage..
Work Experience:
5-7 years of hands-on experience in mechanical or automotive maintenance, ideally with experience in airport ground support equipment or heavy vehicles.
Familiarity with airport operational standards and compliance regulations is an advantage.
Strong experience with troubleshooting and preventive maintenance for ground vehicles.
