Business Management Analyst

Role Purpose

This role will join the team responsible for overseeing the end‑to‑end management of external legal vendors and associated fees across LSEG. This role ensures robust financial control, timely processing of purchase orders and invoices, effective vendor relationships, and transparent reporting of spend. The ideal candidate will bring strong organisational skills, attention to detail, and the ability to navigate internal procurement, finance, and risk processes with confidence.

Key Responsibilities

Vendor Management

  • Act as primary point of contact for a portfolio of external vendors (law firms, consultants).
  • Oversee onboarding and due‑diligence processes in line with procurement and compliance standards.
  • Monitor vendor performance and service delivery, escalating issues and coordinating remedial actions where required.
  • Support contract renewals, rate reviews, and commercial discussions.

Purchase Order & Invoicing Management

  • Create, manage, and track purchase orders in alignment with budget approvals and internal financial controls.
  • Ensure accurate coding, timely submission, and seamless workflow with Finance and Accounts Payable.
  • Reconcile invoices against contractual terms, fee schedules, and purchase orders; resolve discrepancies promptly.
  • Maintain an organised audit trail of financial documents and approvals.

Financial Oversight & Reporting

  • Track and forecast vendor spend, identifying variances, risks, and opportunities to optimise cost efficiency.
  • Prepare regular reports for senior management, Finance, and Procurement, supporting transparency and effective decision‑making.
  • Work with budget owners to ensure accurate accruals, re‑forecasts, and alignment to financial targets.

Process & Controls

  • Champion best practices in vendor governance, spend management, and financial operations.
  • Identify opportunities to streamline processes and improve efficiency.
  • Ensure adherence to internal policies, audit requirements, and compliance standards.

Skills & Experience

Essential

  • Experience in vendor management, procurement operations, financial administration, or business management.
  • Strong understanding of purchase‑to‑pay processes.
  • Excellent attention to detail and ability to maintain accuracy under time pressure.
  • Strong communication and relationship‑building skills.
  • Ability to work effectively with cross‑functional teams (Procurement, Finance, Legal, Compliance).
  • Proficiency with financial systems (e.g., SAP, Ariba, Coupa) and Excel.

Desirable

  • Experience managing legal, compliance, or professional services vendors.
  • Familiarity with budgeting, accruals, or cost‑centre management.
  • Experience within large, complex organisations.

  • Vendors are well‑managed with minimal escalations.
  • Spend is accurate, predictable, and well‑controlled.
  • PO and invoicing workflows run smoothly and efficiently.
  • Stakeholders feel supported, informed, and confident in the process.
  • Process improvements are proactively identified and implemented.
