Category Action Plan For Procurement

Overall responsible for their respective categories and exhibit the NAYARA culture and policies to third parties & subordinates. 

  1. Category Lead for Professional Services, Consultant Appointment, Marketing/Promotional Spend, Renting & Leasing of Properties etc
  2. Implement policies and reviews the same & make sure for compliance of policy for self and team member.
  3. Overall Incharge of NAYARA Ethical policy, anti-corruption policy for self and team. 
  4. Responsible for implementation of SOP & e procurement tools for the category (Check, balance & control). 
  5. Responsible for supplier management for category. Identify & implement parameters for supplier relation, supplier performance and exhibit the same. 
  6. Responsible for supply base optimisation , risk identification and mitigation across sub categories 

 

Procurement strategy execution

 

  • Drive category strategy for professional services ensuring best practice purchasing in terms of cost, quality and efficiency.
  • Leverage cross PL spend, pool synergies in obtaining lower costs and favourable terms of delivery.
  • Develop & execute cost reduction plans for each of the categories.
  • Consolidate cross PL commodity & Bought out item suppliers across categories while maintaining sourcing  flexibility
  • Prepare and drive new vendor identification basis cost, process  innovation and volume  requirements
  • Gather commodity market knowledge and identify market trends and opportunities like inputs on hedging of commodities to Finance. 
  • Develop should cost and clean sheet model sub  across categories 

Vendor management

        

  • Own the overall commodity supplier relationships and act as face of the organization.
  • Lead negotiations with commodity suppliers and drive best price, quality  and delivery

Cost Optimisation

 

  • Optimize costs while meeting engineering and product requirements for both current products and new launches 

Capability development

 

  • Lead the team to drive procurement strategy and vendor management programs
  • Assigning responsibilities and overviewing the team performance

Other Responsibilities

 

  • Interaction with planning & analytics team to prepare spend analytics and demand planning. Review & Monitor data and present the same to management for respective categories.  
  • Prepare Procurement planning based on demand planning for category responsible and execute procurement planning. 
  • Prepare category segmentation and category strategies & execute the same. 
  • Prepare approved vendor list for category responsible and work to optimise the same. 
  • Prepare guidelines for sub category manager to prepare sourcing strategy & execute the same effectively. 
  • Prepare goal oriented negotiations strategy & lead the negotiations to achieve the same. 
  • Co-ordinate & represent the case to management at PCC/ MC level to get internal approval for smooth award of contracts.
  • Overall responsible for manage & enforce contract for respective category of material as well as handle change order management for material contracts.
  • Responsible for selection of buying channel and define clearly in sourcing strategy. 
  • Responsible for go to market approach for team members. 
  • Chairs pre-bid meeting with supplier along with end user & potential supplier and Leads the representation. 
  • Drive relationship with internal and external customers pertaining to category.  
  • Prepare category strategy, sourcing strategy, buying channel, negotiations strategy & execute the same to meet Organization & Dept. KPIs. 

Develop In-house database

Establish accurate, reliable data base of suppliers / aggregator / service providers. 

Track & monitor category spend, demand plan & notify deviations within the category. 

Key Performance Indicator.

Saving (p.a) within the category in line with category value delivery plan. 

Trend in category material & services with respect to plan/past transaction/estimates.  

Supply market intelligence 

Development of new/alternate supplier for category to optimise supplier data base.  

Monitor & Evaluate supplier performance and supplier score card 

Drive supplier business review meetings , Supplier risk assessment and mitigation   and create preferred supplier list 

Internal and external stakeholder management , agility and TAT

8. SKILLS & KNOWLEDGE

 

  1. Educational Qualifications & Certifications:

 

  • Any Bachelors
  • Preferred - Engineer (BE-Mechanical/ Electrical ) + MBA or PGDM

 

  1. Relevant (Functional/Level) & Total Years of Experience:

 

  • 15 +years’ experience in managing the Procurement l function in a large process industry   contract & procurement management experience

 

  • In-depth knowledge of Procurement function or Finance and accounts

 

  • Functional Skills:

 

  • Good Knowledge of procurement process, Industry standard contracts in Professional Services, Consultant Appointment, Marketing/Promotional Spend, Renting & Leasing etc
  • Through Knowledge of  SAP Modules (MM,PM&QM)
  • Knowledge  of Procedures -Corporate Objectives, Standard Operating procedures for Purchase , HSEF, SAP,
  • Basic knowledge of accounting standards and regulatory framework
  • Basic understanding of the refinery operations and processes
  • Commercial Knowledge -Budget and Cost control, - Analysis etc, Best practices, Value Engineering, / Procurement strategy, 
  • Knowledge of  market trends - Market rates, Market Conditions, Other Vendors, New Products & Technology
