Control Management - Associate

As a Control Manager for Payments within JPMorganChase, you will play a crucial role in identifying and mitigating compliance and operational risks for payments operations. You will collaborate with business executives to design and implement effective control strategies, ensuring our operations are secure and efficient. Your work will directly contribute to the firm's success and help maintain our reputation for excellence.

Job responsibilities

Oversee Governance and Oversight

  • Oversee controls across all CIB Operations, ensuring compliance with CORE standards and designing a CIB-specific Risk & Controls framework. 
  • Participate in governance forums, manage error/event escalations, and conduct proactive reviews to prevent audit findings.

Manage Regulatory & Audit Management

  • Anticipate regulatory themes, enable proactive Operations responses, and maintain knowledge of regulatory obligations.
  • Monitor issues and action plans to closure, coordinate remediation post reviews/audits, and align messaging with the Central Controls Office.

Identify and Assess Risks

  • Oversee and review Operations errors per Corporate Operational Risk Event Standards; escalate as required. Evaluate emerging risks using internal and external event analyses.

Implement Policy and Procedures

  • Implement corporate-owned policies by designing required Operations controls; oversee Operations-owned policies and standards.
  • Develop and implement procedures for processes, controls, and governance; partner with Legal and Compliance to review and publish policies.

Train and Raise Awareness

  • Coordinate and execute training programs to embed control requirements and expectations. Monitor compliance with mandatory training across Operations.

Monitor Operations

  • Monitor and drive timely closure of Operations issues and action plans. Perform deep dives, thematic reviews, and periodic health checks to confirm adherence to policies and standards.

Coordinate Control Initiatives

  • Coordinate and execute global control projects and programs with the Central Controls Office.
  • Identify and automate control testing and review activities where feasible.

Required qualifications, capabilities and skills: 

  • Bachelor’s or Master’s degree in Commerce or Engineering; 
  • Excellent written and verbal communication; 
  • Proficiency with Microsoft 365 (Excel, PowerPoint, Word); 
  •  

Preferred qualifications, capabilities and skills: 

  • Exposure to intelligent automation/AI solutions and large language models (LLMs) is a plus.
