Job Purpose: The Business Safety Head is responsible for establishing and driving the Environmental, Health, and Safety (EHS) vision and mission for Adani Realty. This role focuses on developing, deploying, and governing EHS strategies, standards, and initiatives across the Realty Business Unit (BU) to ensure alignment with group-level objectives. The Head - Business EHS collaborates with internal and external stakeholders to ensure effective EHS capacity building, safety governance, and compliance with industry standards, fostering a culture of safety and sustainability.
Business Safety Head
Architecting EHS Vision, Mission, and Values:
Develop the EHS vision (Becoming) and mission (Doing) for Adani Realty, creating a culture of safety and belonging across all projects and regions.
Establish core EHS values that foster a sense of responsibility and ownership among employees, contractors, and stakeholders.
EHS Strategy Development and Deployment:
Develop the EHS strategy for the Realty BU in alignment with Group standards, initiatives, and policies.
Ensure the strategy is deployed effectively across various regions and projects, customizing it to fit the unique requirements of each.
Standards, Manuals, Protocols, and Guidelines:
Formulate and implement EHS standards, manuals, protocols, and guidelines tailored to the Realty BU's needs.
Adapt and customize Group safety standards, directives, and guidelines to meet Realty BU-specific requirements.
Safety Governance Framework:
Adopt and integrate the Group’s Safety Governance Framework into the Realty BU’s operations.
Support the formation and functioning of the Business Safety Council (BSC), Business Task Forces (BTFs), and Regional Safety Committees (RSC) for effective safety governance.
EHS Advisory and Stakeholder Engagement:
Provide expert advice and counsel to stakeholders on EHS matters, including the deployment of EHS standards and Management Systems (MS).
Facilitate resolution of conflicts between internal and external stakeholders related to EHS issues.
Leadership and Capacity Building:
Engage and train the leadership team on EHS matters, ensuring they are equipped to drive safety initiatives.
Oversee the capacity building of employees, contractors, and workers through targeted training programs.
Networking and Collaboration:
Establish and maintain relationships with external agencies, experts, and organizations to stay updated on EHS trends and best practices.
Collaborate with Group EHS and regional EHS functions to ensure consistency and effectiveness of EHS initiatives across the company.
Annual Strategic Action Plan (STRAP):
Provide inputs to the Group EHS function to evolve the Annual Strategic Action Plan (STRAP) and develop the Realty BU’s STRAP based on SWOT analysis.
Translate STRAP objectives into specific performance goals, targets, and KPIs for the Realty BU.
Ensure the STRAP is integrated into the annual EHS action plan, with clear alignment to business objectives.
Budgeting and Resource Management:
Prepare and seek approval for the budget required to implement the EHS action plan and initiatives, including Group safety initiatives and Realty BU-specific needs.
Oversee the acquisition and onboarding of EHS resources in accordance with the scope document and strategic requirements.
EHS Protocol Enforcement:
Assist projects in the enforcement of EHS protocols and conditions of contract.
Ensure the implementation of applicable EHS policies, SOPs, directives, guidelines, and manuals across all projects.
Contractor Evaluation and Approval:
Oversee the evaluation, qualification, and approval process for contractors, ensuring they meet EHS standards before onboarding.
Ensure contractors are aligned with Adani Realty’s EHS policies and protocols.
Incident Management and Investigation:
Ensure timely investigation and reporting of incidents, particularly Cat 4 & 5 accidents, and oversee the implementation of preventive measures.
Conduct planned and surprise EHS audits and inspections across projects, providing actionable feedback for improvement.
Performance Monitoring and Reporting:
Continuously monitor and report on the Realty BU’s EHS performance, providing feedback on areas requiring improvement.
Ensure the timely preparation and submission of management information system (MIS) reports as per the established processes.
Safety Committee and Council Management:
Facilitate the functioning of the Business Safety Council (BSC), Business Task Forces (BTFs), Regional Safety Committee (RSC), and Project Safety Committees (PSC).
Ensure effective coordination and communication within and between safety committees.
Integrated Management Systems (IMS):
Design, develop, and deploy Integrated Management Systems (IMS), including EMS-ISO 14001 and OHSMS-ISO 45001, across Adani Realty.
Ensure the implementation of these systems and adherence to international safety and environmental standards.
EHS Training and Motivation:
Plan and provide EHS training to the leadership team, contractors, and employees, ensuring completion of mandatory training programs.

Educational Qualification:
Bachelor of Engineering (B.E. or B.Sc.) / Diploma in Engineering (Mechanical/Civil/Electrical) or Bachelor of Science (B.Sc.)
Advance Diploma in Industrial Safety (ADIS) approved by Board of Technical Education and NEBOSH Certification. In lieu of ADIS, ADIS equivalent qualifications such as NEBOSH Diploma may be considered.
Additionally, Certification Course in Environment, Environment Management, Environment Management System (ISO 14001, ISO 45001), ESG, EHS Audit is preferred.
Work Experience (Range of years):
18+ Years
Preferred Industry:
Experience in the EHS field, with 12-15 years in building construction works, including high-rise buildings, extensive townships, mixed-use developments (commercial, retail, malls, and hotels), and infrastructure projects. This includes 5+ years in a managerial role (Regional Head, Corporate Head, or Key Position in Corporate EHS Team) and 2-3 years of construction safety experience in foreign countries.
