Job Summary:

We are seeking a highly skilled Development Project Lead with a strong background in Software Development and a deep expertise in Mainframe IMS DBA. The ideal candidate will be responsible for leading software development projects, ensuring the successful delivery of high-quality solutions while managing a team of developers. This role requires a blend of technical proficiency, leadership capabilities, and a commitment to excellence in project execution.

Responsibilities:

• Lead and manage software development projects from inception to completion, ensuring alignment with business objectives.
• Oversee the design, development, and implementation of software solutions, with a focus on Mainframe IMS database management.
• Collaborate with cross-functional teams to gather requirements, define project scope, and establish timelines.
• Provide technical guidance and mentorship to team members, fostering a culture of continuous learning and improvement.
• Monitor project progress, identify risks, and implement mitigation strategies to ensure timely delivery.
• Conduct code reviews and ensure adherence to best practices in software development and database management.
• Engage with stakeholders to communicate project status, gather feedback, and make necessary adjustments to project plans.
• Stay updated with industry trends and advancements in Mainframe technologies to drive innovation within the team.

Mandatory Skills:

• Strong expertise in Mainframe IMS DBA, including database design, performance tuning, and troubleshooting.
• Proficient in software development methodologies and practices, with a focus on Agile and DevOps principles.
• Experience with programming languages relevant to Mainframe environments, such as COBOL, JCL, and REXX.
• Solid understanding of database management systems and data modeling techniques.
• Excellent problem-solving skills and the ability to work under pressure in a fast-paced environment.
• Strong leadership and team management skills, with a proven ability to motivate and guide a diverse team.

Preferred Skills:

• Familiarity with modern software development tools and practices, including CI/CD pipelines.
• Experience with cloud technologies and their integration with Mainframe systems.
• Knowledge of additional database management systems beyond IMS, such as DB2 or Oracle.
• Strong communication skills, both verbal and written, with the ability to convey complex technical concepts to non-technical stakeholders.

Qualifications:

• Bachelor's degree in Computer Science, Information Technology, or a related field.
• Relevant certifications in database management or software development are a plus.
• Demonstrated ability to lead projects and teams effectively.
