Job Description
Role Purpose
Lead enterprise-wide program governance and stakeholder orchestration for all AI initiatives. Ensure AI investments are strategically aligned, properly funded, risk-managed, and delivering measurable business outcomes.
This role owns the “when, who, and how well” of AI execution across the enterprise — translating AI strategy into disciplined portfolio execution and executive-level visibility.
Key Responsibilities
AI Portfolio Governance
• Maintain a centralized inventory of all AI initiatives across business units.
• Establish and manage stage-gate framework (Intake → POC → Pilot → Production → Scale).
• Track cross-program dependencies and portfolio risks.
• Prevent duplication and fragmented AI investments.
Executive & C-Suite Communication
• Prepare AI steering committee and ExCo reporting materials.
• Translate technical updates into clear business narratives.
• Provide consolidated dashboards on value, risk, funding, and adoption.
• Support executive investment and reprioritization decisions.
Financial & Benefits Oversight
• Define standardized ROI tracking methodology for AI initiatives.
• Monitor budget utilization and forecast accuracy.
• Validate benefits realization post-implementation.
• Escalate underperforming initiatives for course correction.
Stakeholder & Change Management
• Align Business, Technology, Risk, and Data functions.
• Drive clarity of roles between Tech PO, Tech Lead, and Data Science teams.
• Support enterprise AI adoption and awareness initiatives.
• Manage escalation and conflict resolution across functions.
Risk & Compliance Coordination
• Track AI-related regulatory and compliance risks.
• Ensure model approval processes are followed.
• Maintain portfolio-level risk register.
Interfaces with
• AI Technical Product Owner (value & prioritization)
• AI Technical Lead (architecture & engineering standards)
• Data Science teams (delivery execution)
• Risk & Compliance
• Finance
• Business Unit Heads
Ideal Candidate Profile
• 12–15+ years in enterprise program management, transformation, or governance roles.
• Experience managing complex technology portfolios (AI exposure strongly preferred).
• Proven experience working with C-suite and board-level stakeholders.
• Strong financial governance and benefits-tracking background.
• Experience in regulated industries preferred (Insurance, BFSI, Ratings, Healthcare).
What Success Looks Like
• Clear enterprise visibility of AI portfolio at all times.
• AI initiatives delivered on time, on budget, and aligned to strategy.
• Strong executive confidence in AI governance.
• Measurable and validated AI value realization.
• Reduced duplication and portfolio risk exposure.
Leadership Attributes
• Structured, disciplined, and politically astute.
• Strong executive communication capability.
• Comfortable operating in ambiguity and transformation settings.
• Able to challenge constructively and influence senior stakeholders.
Why This Role Matters
AI transformation fails not because of poor models — but because of weak governance, misaligned stakeholders, and poor benefit realization. This role ensures AI becomes a coordinated enterprise capability rather than isolated experiments.
