Responsibilities

Key Responsibilities

• Develop and execute import strategies to source fresh produce, particularly apples, from international markets, ensuring alignment with AAFL’s quality standards and business objectives.
• Manage end-to-end import operations, including vendor selection, contract negotiation, shipping logistics, and customs clearance.
• Build and maintain strong relationships with international suppliers, shipping agents, and customs officials to ensure timely and cost-effective imports.
• Monitor global market trends, shipping routes, and pricing dynamics to identify opportunities for cost optimization and risk mitigation.
• Collaborate with the cold chain infrastructure team to ensure imported produce is seamlessly integrated into AAFL’s Controlled Atmosphere storage facilities.
• Ensure adherence to international trade regulations, shipping documentation, and import compliance requirements.
• Analyze import data and generate actionable insights to improve operational efficiency and reduce lead times.
• Work closely with the Marketing & Sales team to align import schedules with distribution network demands and seasonal market trends.
• Leverage technology and analytics tools to optimize import operations and enhance decision-making processes.
• Support AAFL’s strategic initiatives to expand its portfolio by identifying potential import opportunities for other fruits and vegetables.

Qualifications

Required Qualifications & Experience

• Bachelor’s degree in Supply Chain Management, International Business, or a related field.
• Strong understanding of fresh food supply chains, international markets, and import/export operations.
• Proven experience in managing shipping routes, customs clearance, and C&F operations is preferred.
• Advanced certifications in import/export management or logistics are preferred.

Years & Type of Experience

• Fresher / 0–2 years of experience in import/export operations, international logistics, or supply chain management.
• Exposure to fresh produce supply chains and cold chain logistics is highly desirable.
