What would you do? The Learning Experience Design & Dev. Associate Manager builds the conceptual design, guides the team to execute the design and is responsible for the overall design integrity of the learning asset. They act as a consultant to the client while managing day-to-day planning and execution of multiple training development efforts
What are we looking for? Qualifications: Education: · BA/BS - Prefer degree in Instructional Design, Cognitive Psychology, English, Technical Writing, Communications, related field or equivalent experience Work Experience: · Minimum 10 years of working experience in training design and development · Proven training/learning industry experience · Experience in managing a team of 4-6 people · Project management experience o Expert knowledge of instructional design techniques, adult learning theory, and web-based development tools § Ability to create conceptual design and high-level designs § Extensive experience across instructional approaches (web-based, instructor-led, or virtual instructor-led training) § Strong experience in designing digital learning approaches (videos, micro learning, simulations, gamified learning) o Strong written communication skills including: § Working knowledge of editorial requirements § Language and Grammar § Attention to detail to ensure quality o Strong oral communication skills § Ability to facilitate client SMEs and sponsor discussions to set expectations and ensure appropriate involvement. § Good presentation skills o Proficiency in Microsoft Office (Word, PowerPoint, Excel, and MS Project) o Experience in managing a team size of 4-6 people. o Basic knowledge of project management including work planning and resource scheduling o Experience in working with global clients utilizing a consultative approach Preferred o Awareness of current trends in learning including AI, VR, Storytelling etc. o Experience with developing training solutions for global audience, D&I, accessibility
Roles and Responsibilities: Lead conceptual and high-level design o Gather and define client requirements (through meetings, workshops) § Conduct audience and needs analysis as needed § Understand business problem statement, and articulate the learning solution with the Manager o Create initial conceptual designs (based on proven instructional theory) that meet business and learner requirements o Present initial solutions/conceptual designs to stakeholders and refine based on iterative feedback o Lead ideation discussions, guide Specialists on creating mockups/prototypes to translate the conceptual design Stakeholder Management o Facilitate alignment on the learning solution and design & development process o Utilize Consultative approach when dealing with stakeholders o Manage stakeholder expectations on design, quality and overall engagement experience for multiple training efforts Manage the training development cycle o Define templates, project standards, guidelines and set overall direction for design and development. o Ensure overall quality, integrity, organization and execution of the learning design meets agreed-to quality criteria and business objectives. § Review training deliverables for (as applicable): · Completeness, structure, instructional approach, and visualization · Writing style, compliance to standards, language and grammar · Functionality and usability (eLearning builds) o Create detailed workplan based on budget and resource plan o Oversee execution of conceptual design into learning products as applicable o Work closely with the project manager to estimate and define scope of the learning solution o Manage overall scope of learning solution based on the design and agreement with the client o Work closely with the Project manager to identify and solve risks associated with scope and quality. o Identify continuous improvement areas based on lessons learned; modify process steps as appropriate for client situation with direction from Manager o Manage smaller learning asset development projects (those with less risk and/ or complexity as defined by the Project Manager) Manage team members o Provide coaching to team members on process, quality metrics and individual development areas o Guide emerging team leads on managing people o Report status, identify potential risks and recommendations for mitigation o Provide regular feedback on team performance, suggest action items
