**Job Title: Payroll Manager** **Job Description:** The Payroll Manager is responsible for overseeing and managing the organization's payroll processes and ensuring accurate and timely payment of employees. This role involves handling various aspects of payroll administration, compliance, and communication with internal teams and external vendors. The Payroll Manager is expected to have a deep understanding of payroll regulations, tax laws, and company policies. **Responsibilities:** 1. **Payroll Processing:** - Coordinate and manage the end-to-end payroll processing cycle, including data input, calculations, and reconciliation. - Ensure timely and accurate processing of payroll, including salaries, wages, overtime, bonuses, commissions, and other compensation elements. - Review and verify employee time and attendance records. 2. **Compliance:** - Stay updated with federal, state, and local payroll regulations, tax laws, and labor laws. - Ensure accurate withholding of taxes, social security, and other deductions as required. - Prepare and submit payroll-related tax forms, reports, and documentation. 3. **Record Keeping:** - Maintain accurate payroll records and employee information in compliance with legal requirements. - Generate payroll reports for management, finance, and auditing purposes. 4. **Benefits Administration:** - Coordinate the accurate processing of benefits, including health insurance, retirement plans, and other deductions. - Collaborate with HR to ensure employee benefits are appropriately reflected in payroll. 5. **Vendor Management:** - Communicate effectively with third-party payroll service providers, if applicable. - Collaborate with vendors to resolve any issues and ensure smooth payroll processing. 6. **Communication:** - Address employee inquiries regarding payroll, deductions, and tax-related matters. - Provide clear communication to employees about payroll schedules, changes, and policies. 7. **Auditing and Reconciliation:** - Perform regular audits and reconciliations of payroll data to identify and rectify discrepancies. - Collaborate with finance and accounting teams to ensure accurate financial reporting. 8. **Process Improvement:** - Identify opportunities for process optimization and automation to improve efficiency and accuracy. - Implement best practices to streamline payroll procedures. **Qualifications:** - Bachelor's degree in Accounting, Finance, Human Resources, or related field (or equivalent experience). - Several years of experience in payroll administration, with progressive responsibilities. - Proficiency in payroll software and systems. - Strong knowledge of payroll laws, tax regulations, and employment standards. - Excellent attention to detail and accuracy. - Strong analytical and problem-solving skills. - Effective communication and interpersonal abilities. - Ability to handle sensitive and confidential information. - Strong organizational and time management skills.
