Job Description: QA/QC Manager - Data Center & Commercial Projects

Position Overview

JLL Project and Development Services (PDS) Mumbai is seeking an experienced QA/QC Manager to oversee quality assurance and quality control activities for large-scale data center and commercial greenfield projects. This role requires a seasoned professional who will ensure all construction activities meet stringent quality standards, regulatory compliance, and client expectations throughout the project lifecycle.

Key Responsibilities

Quality Management Lead comprehensive QA/QC programs for data center and commercial construction projects from inception to completion. Develop and implement quality control plans, inspection schedules, and testing protocols specific to mission-critical infrastructure requirements. Establish quality benchmarks aligned with international standards including ISO 9001, TIA-942 for data centers, and relevant Indian building codes.

Technical Oversight Manage quality control activities across all construction phases including MEP systems, structural works, architectural finishes, and specialized data center components such as raised floors, cooling systems, power distribution, and fire suppression systems. Conduct regular inspections, audits, and compliance reviews to ensure adherence to specifications, drawings, and approved construction methodologies.

Team Leadership & Coordination Lead a team of QA/QC engineers and inspectors while coordinating closely with project managers, contractors, consultants, and client representatives. Facilitate quality-focused meetings, resolve technical disputes, and ensure seamless communication between all project stakeholders regarding quality matters.

Documentation & Reporting Maintain comprehensive quality documentation including inspection reports, non-conformance reports, corrective action plans, material certificates, and test results. Prepare detailed quality dashboards and progress reports for senior management and clients, ensuring full traceability and regulatory compliance.

Risk Management Identify potential quality risks early in the construction process and implement preventive measures. Manage the non-conformance process including root cause analysis, corrective actions, and preventive measures to avoid recurrence. Ensure all quality issues are resolved before project handover.

Required Qualifications

Education & Experience Bachelor's degree in Civil Engineering, Mechanical Engineering, Electrical Engineering, or related field. Minimum 15 years of progressive experience in construction quality management with at least 8 years specifically in data center and commercial projects. Experience with greenfield developments exceeding INR 500 crores preferred.

Technical Expertise Deep understanding of data center construction standards, MEP systems, mission-critical infrastructure, and commercial building construction methodologies. Proficiency in quality management systems, construction materials testing, and regulatory compliance frameworks. Knowledge of standards ASHRAE, NFPA, and Indian standards IS codes.

Leadership Skills Proven ability to lead cross-functional teams in complex construction environments. Strong analytical and problem-solving capabilities with experience in stakeholder management and client interface. Excellent communication skills with ability to present technical information to diverse audiences.
