Job Description

As one of our Electrical Design Engineer, you will become part of our Global Datacenter team, collaborating with domain experts specializing in Data Center Design, & Commissioning globally. 

In your role, you will work on projects from India and other geographies. Based on any of the regional offices, travel will be expected on occasion, to fulfil the needs of the projects you will be working on.   

Your key tasks and responsibilities will be: 

• Strong fundamentals in load calculations to create Basis of Design and with application of energy efficiency principles for effective power utilization.   

• Understanding of Data Center Tier Models and its impact on design. 

• Design Electrical Single Line Diagrams (SLD), including HT systems.  

• Design Electrical Substations (up to 66kV & above).  

• Develop high-level electrical layouts.  

• Perform Electrical Calculations using ETAP software.  

• Prepare Specifications and Bill of Quantities (BOQ) for:  

• HT Systems  

• DG Works  

• UPS + Batteries  

• Transformers  

• Electrical Low Voltage Side Works. 

• Air cooled, liquid cool data centers  

• Proficiency in CAD to design SLDs and Layouts. 

• Be able to navigate through 3D models in Revit or Navisworks 

• Guide the team in designing Electrical layouts using CAD software.  

• Coordinate with other multidiscipline mainly but not limited to MEP, structural, E&H, Water and architectural teams.  

• Be responsible for the quality assurance and output quality of work both personally and of others within the team.  

• Be responsible for ensuring any work to the client and to other Ramboll offices across globe.

For this role, we believe your starting point is:  

Mandatory Skills:  

• Strong knowledge of Electrical design for Data Centers.  

• Knowledge of Uptime Tier requirements.  

• Knowledge of HT Power Distribution systems.  

• Proficiency in AutoCAD and Revit.  

• Experience with ETAP software for Electrical Calculations.  

• Air cooled, Liquid Cool technologies. 

• Advantageous Skills:  

• Knowledge of GPU Data Centers.  

• Soft Skills:  

• Attention to detail and pride in work quality.  

• Flexible attitude to meet frequently changing deadlines.  

• Strong communication skills in English (written and verbal).  

• Ability to mentor and support both Senior and Junior engineers.  

Qualifications

Qualification: BE/B.Tech in Electrical Engineering.  

Experience:  

• Minimum 8-12 years of overall experience.  

• Minimum 3-6 years of experience specifically in Data Center projects.
