As a Software Engineer II at JPMorgan Chase within the Commercial and Investment Bank's Post Trade Tech Team, you are part of an agile team that works to enhance, design, and deliver the software components of the firm’s state-of-the-art technology products in a secure, stable, and scalable way. As an emerging member of a software engineering team, you execute software solutions through the design, development, and technical troubleshooting of multiple components within a technical product, application, or system, while gaining the skills and experience needed to grow within your role.

 

Job responsibilities

• Build high-quality web applications using React libraries.
• Implement state management (Redux, Context API) for efficient data flow.
• Work with designers to convert Figma designs into functional UI components.
• Optimize applications for speed and scalability.
• Review code and offer constructive feedback.
• Debug and troubleshoot for optimal performance.
• Foster a culture of diversity, inclusion, opportunity, and respect.

 

Required qualifications, capabilities, and skills

• Formal training or certification on software engineering concepts and 2+ years applied experience
• Proficient in HTML, CSS, JavaScript, and React JS.
• Strong knowledge of Figma and design tools.
• Experience with responsive/adaptive design.
• Skilled in Git and version control.
• Excellent problem-solving, communication, and leadership abilities.
• Strong understanding of accessibility standards.
• Experience with build/deploy tools (Webpack, Vite).
• Practical cloud-native experience.

 

Preferred qualifications, capabilities, and skills

• Experience with Typescript or other JavaScript frameworks.
• Familiarity with testing frameworks (Jest, Mocha).
• Knowledge of performance optimization.
• Experience with Agile/Scrum methodologies.
• Familiar with RESTful APIs and asynchronous requests.
