As a Software Engineer III - Automation Test Engineer at JPMorgan Chase within the Commercial & Investment Bank Team, you'll serve as a seasoned member of an agile team to design and deliver trusted market-leading technology products in a secure, stable, and scalable way. You are responsible for carrying out critical technology solutions across multiple technical areas within various business functions in support of the firm’s business objectives.

 

Job responsibilities

 

• Architect, implement, and maintain scalable automation frameworks for UI and API testing using modern and AI-based tools.
• Collaborate with cross-functional teams to define test strategies, select appropriate automation tools, and establish best practices for test automation.
• Leverage AI-powered automation platforms to enhance test coverage, optimize test execution, and improve defect detection.
• Develop and execute automated tests for web a applications, ensuring seamless user experiences and validating UI functionality.
• Build and maintain automated tests for RESTful and SOAP APIs, validating data integrity, security, and performance.
• Integrate automated tests into CI/CD pipelines, enabling rapid feedback and continuous quality assurance.

 

 

Required qualifications, capabilities, and skills

 

• Formal training or certification on software engineering concepts and 3+ years applied experience
• Experience in Java / Python / Javascript
• Bachelor’s or Master’s degree in Computer Science, Engineering, or related field.
• Hands-on practical experience in QA automation
• Hands-on experience in automation frameworks (e.g., Selenium, Cypress, Playwright, Appium)
• Expertise in API testing tools
• Ability to analyze complex systems, identify test scenarios, and troubleshoot issues efficiently.

 

 

Preferred qualifications, capabilities, and skills

 

• Familiarity with modern front-end technologies
• Exposure to cloud technologies
• Experience working with AI-based or next-gen automation tools is preferred.
• Familiarity with CI/CD tools (e.g., Jenkins, GitLab CI, Azure DevOps).
• Hands on experience in karate API testing.
