NMDPL: Navbharat Mega Developers Pvt. Ltd. (NMDPL) is a Special Purpose Vehicle (SPV) formed through a joint venture between the Government of Maharashtra and the Adani Group. It leads the Dharavi Redevelopment Project, aiming to transform one of Asia’s largest informal settlements into a modern urban hub with sustainable housing, infrastructure, and economic opportunities.

Job Purpose: The Onsite & Crisis Management plays a frontline leadership role in managing high-tension, volatile, or obstructive situations arising during field surveys and redevelopment operations in Dharavi. This role requires boots-on-ground presence during all sensitive activities, coordinating in real time with police, intelligence units, political liaisons, and survey teams. The Executive ensures protection of human resources, public perception, and continuity of operations despite social, political, or criminal resistance.

Onsite Presence During High-Risk Operations:Be physically present at critical locations during surveys, protests, or community pushbacks.Act as the ground commander for security response, deploying guards, securing perimeters, and ensuring safe exits for employees or survey teams.Act as the face of authority for NMDPL to de-escalate tension, negotiate with local leaders, and pacify crowds.   Incident Command & Real-Time Crisis Handling:Take charge of any spontaneous event—be it violent protest, crowd obstruction, threats to life/property, or attempted sabotage.Make real-time decisions on containment, evacuation, or negotiation, aligned with NMDPL’s security protocols.Immediately alert the Chief – Security & Intelligence and submit post-incident reports with timeline, decisions made, and learnings.   Law Enforcement & Political Stakeholder Liaison (Ground-Level):Coordinate with police stations for deployment of force during high-risk activities.Ensure presence of beat marshals and crowd control units during volatile surveys or demolition support operations.Interface with local corporators, ward officials, and political party foot soldiers to pre-empt or de-escalate community-driven disruptions.   Crisis Anticipation & Planning:Identify local triggers based on intelligence inputs—such as religious processions, political speeches, or fake news—that may result in protest.Prepare site-wise rapid response plans (RRP), with SOPs for evacuation, negotiation, crowd dispersal, and legal action support.Maintain an onsite “Crisis Kit” including communications equipment, ID backups, medical first-aid, and evidence recording tools.   Staff & Team Safety Coordination:Ensure the safe entry and exit of all NMDPL staff, survey teams, and external vendors from potentially violent zones.Provide briefings to site teams before deployment, including dos/don’ts, emergency contacts, and codeword systems.Maintain a daily tracker of teams deployed and alert levels per zone.   Community & Crowd Engagement (Tactical):Engage with local influencers, women’s groups, and informal leaders to manage crowd sentiment.Diffuse misinformation by circulating facts on redevelopment plans, compensation, and eligibility criteria.Coordinate peace talks if public perception turns hostile.   Documentation & Reporting:Maintain daily log of hotspots, disruptions, and their resolution with photographic and audio/video evidence wherever safe.File FIRs or police complaints as required under the Chief’s direction.Participate in post-incident debriefings and recommend improvement measures.

Educational Qualification:

Bachelor’s degree in Business Management, Instrumentation, Engineering, or a relevant field is required.

Preferred Industry:

Experience in law enforcement, paramilitary service, disaster response, or corporate crisis management. Demonstrated experience managing crowd control, emergency response, or high-stress negotiations.

Familiarity with Dharavi’s sociopolitical landscape is a strong advantage.
