Job Title: Mechanical & Electrical Engineer

Location: Plant Site – Soham Renewable Energy

Qualification:

  • B.E. in Mechanical or Electrical Engineering
  • OR Diploma in Mechanical/Electrical Engineering (Electrical candidates must hold a valid Electrical License)
  • Experience: 3–5 years
  • Languages: Kannada, English, Hindi

About the RoleSoham Renewable Energy is seeking a versatile and technically skilled Mechanical & Electrical Engineer to support plant operations, maintenance, and shift management. The ideal candidate should have hands-on experience in maintaining mechanical and electrical systems used in renewable energy or power generation plants. This role requires strong diagnostic abilities, leadership during shifts, and a commitment to ensuring uninterrupted plant performance in a 24/7 operational environment.

Key ResponsibilitiesMechanical & Electrical Maintenance

  • Inspect, maintain, and service mechanical and electrical equipment, including turbines, pumps, valves, compressors, motors, and switchgear.
  • Diagnose mechanical and electrical faults, identify root causes, and conduct timely repairs to minimize downtime.
  • Oversee installation, calibration, alignment, and wiring of equipment and machinery.
  • Perform preventive and predictive maintenance per schedule.
  • Maintain accurate maintenance logs, drawings, service reports, and technical documentation.

Plant & Shift Operations

  • Supervise and manage plant activities during assigned shifts.
  • Lead and coordinate a team of 3–5 members, ensuring smooth and safe operations.
  • Monitor equipment performance parameters and respond promptly to alarms, breakdowns, and emergencies.
  • Ensure compliance with company SOPs, safety regulations, and environmental guidelines.
  • Coordinate with mechanical, electrical, and operations teams for system upgrades, maintenance shutdowns, and troubleshooting.

Coordination & Improvement

  • Collaborate with vendors and contractors for technical support and spare parts procurement.
  • Recommend and implement improvements for equipment reliability and operational efficiency.
  • Participate in plant modifications, upgrades, and installation of new systems or machinery.
  • Required Skills & QualificationsB.E. or Diploma in Mechanical/Electrical Engineering (Electrical Diploma holders must have a valid Electrical License).
  • 3–5 years of experience in power generation, renewable energy, or industrial plant operations.
  • Strong knowledge of pumps, gearboxes, valves, motors, electrical panels, transformers, and hydraulic systems.
  • Proficient in troubleshooting mechanical and electrical issues.
  • Ability to read and interpret technical drawings, manuals, and electrical schematics.
  • Effective communication, leadership, and team coordination skills.
  • Strong commitment to safety, quality, and continuous improvement.
