Assistant Manager - Inplant PM

Responsibilities

Shift Engineer CHP Operations

Operational Management and Maintenance:

Maintain the stake yard according to the First-In-First-Out (FIFO) principle to ensure systematic coal handling.

Execute regular trials to ensure the healthiness of the fire fighting and detection systems.

Oversee shift operations, including control room monitoring and ensuring no generation loss occurs.

Conduct housekeeping quality checks to maintain a clean and organized work environment.

Equipment and System Optimization:

Operate CHP equipment to achieve desired requirements with optimum load and efficiency.

Perform optimization of Auxiliary Power Consumption (APC) and Bottom Ash Furnace (BUF) systems as well as testing, calibration, and maintenance of interlocks and protection equipment.

Diligently monitor the condition and performance of pipes within the CHP to ensure the integrity of the system and prevent any disruptions in operations.

Manage the operation of the auto coal sampler to guarantee accurate coal quality assessments, which are critical for maintaining efficiency and meeting environmental standards.

Perform checks for defects, follow up on work orders, and pursue necessary permits for equipment maintenance.

Monitor coal pile height and implement coal yard guidelines for effective yard management.

Business Sustainability:

Implement and follow IMS, AWMS, DISHA, CHETNA, and other relevant guidelines within the department.

Maintain full compliance with the Permit to Work (PTW) system during the shift to ensure a safe working environment.

Support initiatives to reduce environmental impact, optimize resource utilization, and ensure sustainable operations.

Collaborate with other departments to align sustainability efforts with overall business objectives.

Digitization and Automation:

Implement process and system improvements, adopting newer technologies and innovative ideas.

Drive the adoption of digital tools and platforms for real-time monitoring and decision-making.

Perform the integration of automation in routine operations to enhance productivity and reduce manual intervention.

Qualifications

Educational Qualification:

BE/B.tech in Mechanical or Electrical Engineering or a related field is required.

Work Experience (Range of years):

3+ years of experience in coal handling operations, with at least 5 years in a supervisory or management role.

Preferred Industry:

Experience in the power generation or energy sector, specifically with expertise in coal handling and operations management.
