Assistant Manager - Projects

Responsibilities

1. Project Execution – Mechanical
  • Execute mechanical scope for solar cell and module manufacturing lines, utilities, and BoP.
  • Handle mechanical installation of:
    • Process equipment, tools, conveyors, robotics, and automation support systems
    • Utility systems such as HVAC, CDA, wet scrubbers, exhaust systems, gas and chemical piping
  • Plan and monitor day‑to‑day mechanical construction and installation activities at site.
2. Engineering & Design Review
  • Review mechanical engineering documents including:
    • Equipment layouts, GA drawings, P&IDs
    • Utility routing, piping layouts, and structural supports
  • Validate OEM drawings and layouts for compliance with plant layout, safety norms, and constructability.
  • Coordinate interface engineering between civil, electrical, C&I, and process teams.
3. Vendor & Contractor Management
  • Coordinate with process OEMs, mechanical contractors, and utility vendors.
  • Review vendor technical submissions, BOQs, material specifications, and method statements.
  • Track vendor progress, manpower deployment, and site performance.
4. Installation, Testing & Commissioning
  • Supervise:
    • Equipment erection, alignment, leveling, and anchoring
    • Piping fabrication, erection, pressure testing, and flushing
  • Ensure cold and hot commissioning support during OEM startup.
  • Support trial runs, ramp‑up activities, and production stabilization.
5. Utilities & Facility Systems
  • Execute mechanical systems for:
    • HVAC (cleanroom and comfort)
    • CDA, nitrogen, vacuum, exhaust, and wet utilities
    • DI water, chemical handling systems, and safety systems
  • Ensure integration of utilities with process equipment requirements.
6. Safety, Quality & Compliance
  • Ensure adherence to EHS standards and safe work practices at site.
  • Conduct quality inspections and ensure compliance with project quality plans and statutory codes.
  • Ensure proper permits, toolbox talks, and contractor safety compliance.
7. Documentation & Handover
  • Prepare and maintain:
    • As‑built drawings, test reports, commissioning records
    • O&M manuals and equipment datasheets
  • Support smooth handover to operations and maintenance teams.
  • Provide inputs and training support during initial operations phase.

Qualifications

Education
  • B.E. / B.Tech in Mechanical Engineering
Experience
  • 6–10 years of experience in:
    • Industrial project execution
    • Manufacturing plants such as solar module/cell, semiconductor, electronics, battery, or high‑tech manufacturing
  • Experience in greenfield manufacturing projects preferred.
