Assistant Manager - QA/QC

Responsibilities

Construction Quality Team Member-PETCHEM

Quality Management:

Assist in ensuring high-quality outcomes for the assigned unit by performing inspection activities, including incoming material inspections, daily routine inspections as per Inspection Test Plans (ITP), non-destructive testing, and other quality control activities.

Support the implementation of welding procedures, inspection test plans, job procedures, and quality control formats to meet project specifications and quality standards.

Technical Documentation and Engineering Oversight:

Aid in the development and adherence to quality control formats and inspection/test plans for non-destructive testing, piping, structural elements, static and rotary equipment, painting, PWHT, and insulation.

Assist in reviewing and inspecting vendor documents and materials to ensure compliance with Purchase Orders, relevant codes, standards, and specifications.

Material Inspection Management:

Support inspections and certifications of piping and other materials, including welder qualifications, daily fit-up, dimensional checks, and visual weld inspections.

Conduct inspections at vendor workshops and prepare Inspection Release Notes (IRN) for acceptable materials.

Statutory Compliance & Audit Assurance:

Assist in implementing ISO 9001 and other QMS activities by coordinating internal audits, creating field observation reports for deviations, and supporting the closure of non-compliance reports and corrective actions.

Participate in loop file checking and prepare punch points for test packages.

Provide inspection support and coordination with competent person as per statutory requirement like IBR, PESO within assigned units.

Risk Management:

Assist implementation of risk mitigation plans related to construction quality issues within the assigned unit, ensuring timely resolution and minimal impact on project outcomes.

Ensure ongoing alignment with quality standards by assisting in conducting joint walkthroughs with construction representatives on a fortnightly basis and addressing any emerging issues.

Stakeholder Collaboration:

Support activities related to the collation of final handover documents and ensure proper documentation and review processes are followed.

Collaborate with other team members and departments to ensure quality standards are maintained throughout the construction lifecycle.

Qualifications

Educational Qualification:

Diploma or Bachelor's degree in Engineering.

Work Experience (Range of years):

3-7 years of relevant experience in a large or medium-scale industry, with knowledge of codes and standards within the Hydrocarbon sector, experience in QMS audits and certifications, and NDT ASNT Level II certifications.

Awareness of in International & national Codes and Standards like API 1104, B31.3, ASME SEC II, SEC V, SECVIII, SEC IX, ISO-9000, NACE, ASME, API, ASTM, ANSI, BIS & BS code
