Job Description

Deputy General Manager - Customs & Logistics

Responsibilities

Export Management

Coordinate with FF for Container Planning based on exports order

Ensuring Exports documentation and container gate in as per  Vessel gate in schedules

Monitoring and reviewing Shipping bills and reviewing advance license authorizations and Redtop

Ensuring Bond registrations and US for Exports

Monitoring entry summary sheets and its liquidation status

Ensuring compliances for US CBP rules as Weill as Indian customs rules for exports

Manage end-to-end customs clearance for import/export shipments

Import Management

Planning, Executing and Monitoring Monitor shipment tracking, delivery schedules, and resolve delays proactively - to avoid plant operation and additional cost towards the detention, demurrage

Liaise with external agencies Customs authorities, CHA, Freight Forwarders, Exim and Port officials

Coordinate logistics activities including Customs clearance, Transportation

Coordination with Internal teams i.e. procurement, PPC, warehouse, Project teams for smooth Customs clearance operations, (OBL, DO, COO) for timely material availability 

Co-ordination with External agencies CHA, Customs, Freight Forwarders, Transporters and other Agencies for onetime clearance and delivery of the cargo

Managing complex Import -Export operations- i.e. Re-import, Re-export shipments, Project Imports

Compliances

Ensure compliance with customs regulations and documentation requirements

Resolving Queries raised by Customs at the time of clearance of the goods

Resolving Post audit query raise by Customs 

Resolving Old Issues i.e.. BOE amendment, FOC cases, Refund Cases, IDPMS / EDPMS issues

IGCR Registration, IGCR Return, Executing Bond

Advance / EPCG License - Registration and Cancellation of Bond

Co-ordinating with Internal MARS Audit team

Data Management

Maintain accurate records of Customs documentation, Duty payments (ECL), License Dashboard, Cost sheet, Import shipment Master data.

DSR Review, Dashboard Review, ECL Review, MICT PD Account, Interest and Penalties Review, RODTEP

Preparing Weekly MIS- (interest and Penalty) 

Monthly MIS- (CEO review)

Cost

Cost Provision, Service provider's KPI review

Contract Finilation for CHA and other agencies

Generating RFQ, E-Auction

Cost, Scope of work and Technical Negotiation with 3PL and 4PL service providers

Generating NFA and co-ordianting for approving NFA from all approving authorities

Optimize inbound and outbound logistics to reduce costs and improve efficiency

Verification and Processing Service providers invoices for payment

Maintaining Shipment wise Cost sheets

Preparing Cost report on monthly basis

Knowledge sharing

Implement best practices in logistics and customs operations

Lead and mentor junior logistics staff at the plant - Training to teams and Knowledge sharing

Qualifications

Educational Qualification:

  • B.Tech in Engineering (Industrial/Logistics).
  • Desired: BE/B.Tech.

Work Experience (Range of years):

  • 12-14 years in Logistics, Export-Import & Customs
