Deputy Manager - ETP

Job Purpose:

The Shift Incharge for the Effluent Treatment Plant (ETP) is responsible for managing daily operations within the shift, ensuring that the plant operates efficiently and meets regulatory standards. The role involves supervising a team of operators, optimizing processes, handling rejects, preventing spillage, and ensuring safety and compliance. This position also requires troubleshooting, monitoring equipment, and preparing shift performance reports.

Shift In-charge - ETP – Copper

Production Planning and Execution:

  • Oversee and coordinate daily ETP activities, ensuring efficient and smooth operations during the shift.
  • Plan and oversee ETP operations during the shift to ensure optimal treatment of effluent water.
  • Prevent overflow and manage the discharge process in compliance with operational targets.
  • Ensure efficient handling of reject water, effluent overflow, and treated water within the shift time frame.

Process Optimization and Continuous Improvement:

  • Monitor and optimize ETP processes to ensure efficiency and minimum environmental impact.
  • Identify and implement process improvements during the shift to enhance throughput and reduce waste.
  • Lead continuous improvement efforts to improve reject handling and spillage prevention.

Quality Assurance and Control:

  • Ensure that all treated water and by-products meet the required quality standards.
  • Supervise reject water handling and hazardous cake management, ensuring zero spillage during operations.
  • Conduct inspections and enforce quality control protocols for all treated outputs.

Equipment Monitoring and Troubleshooting:

  • Monitor the operational performance of ETP equipment and address any malfunctions.
  • Conduct preventive maintenance checks and troubleshoot equipment issues to minimize downtime.
  • Collaborate with maintenance teams to ensure timely repairs and equipment readiness.
  • Supervise reject water handling and ensure the proper disposal of waste products.
  • Prevent overflow of reject water and take immediate corrective actions in case of any deviations.

HSE and Regulatory Compliance:

  • Ensure that all operations within the shift comply with health, safety, and environmental (HSE) regulations.
  • Lead safety audits and inspections, addressing any potential hazards within the shift.
  • Ensure reject handling complies with environmental and regulatory standards.
  • Liaise with government bodies during inspections to ensure compliance with regulatory requirements.

Cost Management and Budgeting:

  • Monitor chemical consumption, energy usage, and other cost-related factors during the shift.
  • Identify opportunities to reduce operational costs while maintaining process efficiency.
  • Work within the allocated budget for shift operations and suggest cost-saving measures.

Resource and Workforce Management:

  • Lead and supervise a team of operators and technicians to ensure efficient shift operations.
  • Allocate resources effectively to meet operational demands during the shift.
  • Conduct regular training sessions for shift employees on ETP processes, safety, and regulatory compliance.

Reporting and Data Analytics:

  • Prepare and submit daily shift reports on ETP performance, compliance, and maintenance activities.
  • Analyze data from shift operations to identify trends, inefficiencies, and areas for improvement.
  • Ensure accurate record-keeping of plant operations and maintenance tasks.

Digitization and Tech Adoption:

  • Use digital tools and monitoring systems to track ETP processes in real-time.
  • Leverage technology for process optimization, equipment monitoring, and report generation.

Education Qualification:

BE in Chemical Engineering or M.Sc Chemistry
