Job Purpose: The Head - Business Excellence drives process improvements and ensure best practice standards across operations. Oversee technical training to enhance workforce efficiency and safety. Focus on strategic planning, performance management, and achieving operational excellence and growth.
Drive Business Excellence initiatives like IMS, AWMS 5S, SPS, Lean, Six Sigma, QCs, Malcolm Baldrige & Adani Business Excellence across Adani Solar
• Facilitate &mentor Lean six sigma COP projects with DMAIC methodology for Cell, Module, Ingot & wafer manufacturing
• Lead the six sigma project from start to end in the identified yearly cycle to deliver targeted savings
• Responsible for preparation & circulation weekly MIS of project metrics & other BE reports on weekly, monthly basis to track & update the project progress to the Leadership team and stakeholders.
• Coordinate & work with solar manufacturing leaders from Production, Process, Maintenance, F&M &Technology functions for effective & timely execution of the projects
• Coordinate for weekly, fortnightly COP projects reviews, make & update related project presentations along with project leaders for leadership review meetings
• Establish, implement, and maintain IMS processes in line with ISO and legal requirements & support with ISO 9001, ISO 14001, ISO 45001 and ISO 50001 standards.
• Conduct trainings, workshops and handholding on Structured Problem solving tools used in DMAIC phases
• Plan and conduct trainings on Minitab statistical tools and on Advanced analytics
• Facilitate QC, Kaizen & 5S progress of all functions as per BE plan.
• Analyze performance data to identify areas for improvement and implement appropriate methodology to enhance system effectiveness, drive continuous improvement using Lean Six Sigma
• Leading from the front & being accountable for the professional growth of your teams. Developing/conducting/promoting training & learning initiatives to enhance skills & empowering them to take ownership of key processes and decisions.
Innovation
Integrating advanced solar technologies and automation to streamline production and enhance energy efficiency. Driving continuous improvements in product design and manufacturing processes.
Digitalization/Data-Driven Decision Making
Adopting digital tools and analytics to optimize solar production, monitor quality, and improve resource allocation. Enabling data-driven decisions for better operational performance.
Organizational & Culture Building
Promoting a culture of innovation, sustainability, and collaboration within the solar industry. Aligning teams with company goals for greater accountability and success.
Leadership in Change Management
Leading the seamless integration of new solar technologies and processes. Ensuring smooth transitions with minimal disruption and strong alignment to business objectives.
Strategy & Planning:
Develop and implement strategic initiatives to enhance operational efficiency and align with the overall objectives of the solar division. Focus on integrating renewable energy goals with organizational performance metrics.
Budget Management:
Oversee the budget for solar projects, ensuring effective allocation of funds to maximize returns on investment and achieve project milestones.
Process Improvement:
Identify and optimize existing processes in solar project development and operations. Lead Lean Six Sigma initiatives to enhance performance and drive continuous improvement across all functions.
Annual Review and Update of SOPs:
Manage the annual review and updating of standard operating procedures (SOPs) for solar operations. Ensure alignment with industry best practices and compliance with regulatory requirements.
Six Sigma Implementation:
Champion Six Sigma methodologies within solar operations, leading projects aimed at improving efficiency, reducing waste, and enhancing overall project delivery.
Risk Management:
Identify potential risks associated with solar project execution and operational processes. Develop and implement strategies to mitigate these risks effectively.
Performance Measurement and Reporting:
Develop KPIs and metrics to track business process effectiveness; prepare performance reports for senior management.
Technology Integration:
Design and implement Lean Management and 5S methodologies tailored for solar operations. Monitor the adoption of best practices and technological advancements across solar sites.
Stakeholder Management:
Collaborate with internal and external stakeholders to drive business excellence in solar initiatives. Facilitate cross-functional teamwork to achieve shared renewable energy goals.
Brand Positioning:
Ensure that the organization’s brand values are reflected in all interactions related to solar projects. Strengthen relationships to enhance trust and reputation in the renewable energy market.
Team Development:
Foster a respectful and safe workplace within the solar division. Lead collaborative teams and provide mentorship to support professional growth and success.
Educational Qualification:
- BE/B. Tech /M Tech (Master's or Bachelor's degree - Full time)
Work Experience (Range of years):
- 15 to 20 years of experience in Operational Excellence, Manufacturing Excellence, Business Excellence, Continuous Improvement function. Atleast 5 years Leadership experience of Managing Business Excellence in a Manufacturing setup.
- Certified Lean Six Sigma Master Black Belt.
- Exposure to Global BE frameworks, Innovation & KM functions
- Project & Program management skills to track and review projects under execution for operational improvement.
- Good cross functional, interpersonal, facilitating, communication & people engagement skills.
- Proficiency in RCA, SPC, statistical data analysis, Advanced analytics, should have expertise in Minitab.
- Exposure in use of AI / ML for improvement. Advance statistical analysis including predictive analytics using Minitab.
