Manager - Carbide Operation

Responsibilities

• Submerged Arc Furnace Operations: Oversee and manage the operation of submerged arc furnaces, ensuring optimal performance and efficiency.
• Process Optimization: Implement advanced process control (APC) techniques to enhance production efficiency and reduce energy consumption.
• Thermodynamic Analysis: Conduct thermodynamic and kinetic analysis to optimize reaction conditions and improve yield.
• Quality Assurance: Develop and enforce stringent quality control protocols to ensure product consistency and compliance with industry standards.
• Safety Management: Implement and monitor safety management systems (SMS) to ensure compliance with occupational health and safety (OHS) regulations.
• Technical Troubleshooting: Diagnose and resolve technical issues related to furnace operation, refractory lining, and electrode management.
• Data Analysis: Utilize data analytics and process simulation software to monitor and improve production metrics.
• Resource Allocation: Manage the allocation of raw materials, energy resources, and manpower to maximize operational efficiency.
• Maintenance Planning: Develop and oversee preventive maintenance schedules for critical equipment to minimize downtime.
• Continuous Improvement: Lead continuous improvement initiatives using Lean Six Sigma methodologies to enhance process reliability and productivity.

Qualifications

• Education: Bachelor's degree in Chemical Engineering, Metallurgical Engineering, or a related field. A Master's degree is preferred.
• Experience: 13-15 years of experience in calcium carbide production and submerged arc furnace technology
