Senior Manager Security- Copper Tube BU

Responsibilities

Strategy Initiatives

  • Oversee the day-to-day Security Operations of the KCTL section in detail and KCTL as holistic, ensuring adherence to security, safety and quality standards
  • Monitor and report any unusual activity or discrepancies to PSH
  • Participate in the meetings related to security best practices for procurement of equipment, materials, and resources necessary for pyrometallurgical or hydro operations
  • Ensure Material/ Manpower / Veh flow in detail and monitor any discrepancies
  • Ensure Metal free policy implementation by augmenting it with KCTL Security SOP.
  • Provide guidance on covid management based on ISO/PAS 45005 guidelines

Supervision & Coordination

  • Lead, monitor, and direct the security personnel assigned to the shift.
  • Ensure proper handover/takeover between shifts, with all logs and records accurately maintained.
  • Conduct regular briefings to security staff on their duties and any potential risks or changes in procedures.Stay abreast with the new trends, latest technologies, and advanced automation systems, applications, and equipment 

Asset Protection

  • Ensure strict security protocols are enforced for the safeguarding of gold, silver, and other high-value materials in the production section.
  • Conduct regular patrols and inspections of critical areas, including vaults, production units, and storage zones.
  • Monitor access points, ensuring only authorized personnel are permitted entry to sensitive areas.

Incident Response

  • Respond promptly and effectively to any security breaches, alarms, or incidents that arise during the shift.
  •  Coordinate with internal departments and external law enforcement agencies, when necessary, to investigate and resolve security incidents.
  • Prepare incident reports and submit them to the Security Manager.
  • Maintain accurate records of all security related activities of KCTL

Security Systems Monitoring  

  • Monitor KCTL access control systems, alarm systems, and other security devices at KCTL ISCR to detect breaches or unauthorized entries.
  • Report any malfunction or potential vulnerability in security systems to the relevant department for immediate repair or action. Cultivate strategic relationships with partners

People Management

  • Coach the control room executives and ground team to achieve and improve the operational KPIs for Control room operations
  • Foster an environment of learning, excellence, and innovation within the team

Compliance and Protocols       

  • Ensure compliance with the company's security policies, local laws, and regulatory requirements related to the production, storage, and transport of precious metals.
  • Ensure all security staff are adhering to company procedures, including the correct use of personal protective equipment (PPE) and adherence to safety standards.

Training & Development          

  • Optimize mock drills, TBTs, for selenium, silver or gold refining processes on regular basis to mitigate the risk of theft/loss of precious metals
  • Mentor and guide junior security personnel, promoting a culture of vigilance, discipline, and integrity.

Documentation and Reporting            

  • Maintain accurate records of personnel entry/exit logs, material movement logs, and all other security-related documentation.
  • Prepare daily shift reports summarizing all security activities, incidents, and any observations requiring attention.

Emergency Preparedness

  • Be prepared to respond to emergencies such as fire, equipment failure, or unauthorized access swiftly and efficiently.
  • Coordinate with the emergency response team and follow evacuation or containment protocols, ensuring the safety of all personnel and assets.

Technology and IT Enablement           

  • Basic Knowledge of Computers, SAP
  • Work with IT department to improve and strengthen company IT/security infrastructure

 

Qualifications

Educational Qualification:

  • A bachelor’s degree in security management, criminal justice, or a related field is required. Equivalent experience is also acceptable.
  • Preferable to have Certifications including Certified Protection Professional (CPP) / Certified Fraud Examiners (CFE) / Transported Asset Protection Association (TAPA) certification/ Physical Security Professional (PSP) / Certified Information Systems Security Professional (CISSP)/ Industrial Security professional certifications
  • First Aid and emergency response training certification is also a plus.

Experiences:

  • 12 -16 years of experience in security management, preferably in high-value asset industries such as precious metals, banking, or high-security warehousing, is preferred. Prior experience in the gold or silver production sector is a plus.
  • Rich experience managing Security MIS, reporting performance parameters tracking varied Security operations and systems/system applications and Data Management tools.
  • Experience handling Security Operations including Access Control, Traffic Management, Patrolling and Surveillance
  • Hands-on experience with designing and executing SOPs for KCTL
  • Rich experience in Incident Management, conducting mock drills and managing employee queries
  • Experience of dealing with multiple stakeholders – internal as well as external
  • Preferably to have worked in manufacturing plants with diversified businesses
