Job Description

About Us: We’re not just a place to stay—we’re an experience. Our hostel is built for travelers, backpackers, and explorers looking for community, comfort, and a little chaos (the fun kind). From bonfire nights to city walks, we create memories.

Role Overview: As the Front Desk Manager, you are the face and heartbeat of the hostel. You’ll manage daily front office operations, ensure smooth check-ins/check-outs, handle guest queries, and lead a team to deliver unforgettable guest experiences.

Key Responsibilities:

  • Front Desk OperationsManage daily check-ins and check-outs efficiently
  • Handle reservations, cancellations, and walk-ins
  • Ensure accurate billing, payments, and cash handling
  • Maintain occupancy records and update booking systems
  • Create a welcoming, friendly, and social atmosphere
  • Assist guests with travel plans, local recommendations, and activities
  • Resolve guest complaints quickly and professionally
  • Encourage participation in hostel events (bonfires, pub crawls, etc.)
  • Supervise, train, and schedule front desk staff
  • Maintain high team morale and a fun work culture
  • Ensure staff follows SOPs and service standards
  • Work closely with housekeeping for room readiness
  • Coordinate with operations team for events and activities
  • Communicate special guest requests and VIP arrivals
  • Ensure proper guest ID verification and legal compliance
  • Maintain daily reports (occupancy, revenue, issues)
  • Handle OTA platforms (Booking.com, Hostelworld, etc.)

Required Skills & Qualifications:

  • Graduate in Hospitality / Tourism / Business (preferred)
  • 2–4 years experience in front office / hospitality (hostel/hotel preferred)
  • Strong communication and interpersonal skills
  • Fluent in English (additional languages are a plus)
  • Good with PMS systems and basic Excel
  • Problem-solving mindset with a guest-first attitude
