Optometrist Cum Store Manager

Job Description – Optometrist-cum-Store Manager (Eye Plus)

Role Purpose

To lead overall store performance by combining strong clinical expertise with retail leadership, ensuring excellent eye care delivery, superior customer experience, team productivity, and achievement of sales targets.

Key Responsibilities

Clinical Leadership

- Conduct comprehensive eye examinations and refraction

- Handle complex prescriptions (progressives, high power, cylindrical cases)

- Support contact lens trials and fittings

- Identify ocular abnormalities and refer appropriately

- Ensure testing accuracy and compliance with clinical standards

- Maintain calibration and upkeep of optometry equipment

Store Sales Ownership

- Drive store revenue and category-wise targets (frames, lenses, contact lenses)

- Improve eye-test-to-conversion ratios

- Support customers in selecting the right vision solutions

- Explain premium lens features confidently (progressives, blue protection, anti-fatigue lenses, coatings)

- Monitor daily sales performance and take corrective actions

Team Management

- Lead, train, and motivate store staff

- Ensure adherence to customer engagement standards

- Conduct daily briefings and performance reviews

- Improve team productivity and selling confidence

- Support hiring and onboarding of junior optometrists / sales associates when required

Customer Experience Excellence

- Ensure every customer receives professional consultation

- Resolve escalations confidently

- Maintain high customer satisfaction scores

- Drive repeat business and relationship building

Store Operations & Compliance

- Manage store opening/closing readiness

- Ensure hygiene and clinical SOP compliance

- Monitor inventory health (frames, lenses, contact lenses)

- Coordinate with lab and supply chain teams

- Execute marketing campaigns and local outreach activities

- Support eye check-up camps and corporate activations

Candidate Requirements

Education

- Diploma / Bachelor’s Degree in Optometry (B.Optom preferred)

Experience

- 3–6 years in optical retail or clinic-retail environment

- Prior team handling experience preferred

- Strong refraction accuracy

- Progressive lens dispensing confidence

- Retail sales orientation

- Team leadership ability

- Customer relationship management skills

- Communication in English + Kannada (preferred)

- Comfort handling store targets and KPIs
