Spare Parts Manager- Automobile

An Automotive Spare Parts Manager oversees a dealership or repair shop's parts department, managing inventory, ordering stock, supervising staff, handling customer and technician needs, and driving sales while ensuring parts availability for efficient vehicle service and repairs, balancing cost, quality, and customer satisfaction. Key duties include inventory control, supplier negotiation, team leadership, sales strategy, and maintaining efficient operations to minimize vehicle downtime. 

Key Responsibilities

• Inventory Management: Maintain optimal stock levels, track sales, handle warranties, and ensure accurate, organized storage.
• Procurement: Order parts, negotiate prices with suppliers for competitive costs, and manage incoming shipments.
• Staff Leadership: Hire, train, and supervise parts department employees (parts specialists, storekeepers).
• Customer & Technician Support: Assist customers and service technicians in finding the correct parts, handle inquiries, and resolve issues.
• Sales & Marketing: Develop strategies to boost parts sales, promote special offers, and meet financial targets.
• Operations: Ensure smooth daily operations, manage budgets, and work with other departments like service. 

Essential Skills & Qualifications

• Education: High school diploma or a degree in business or technical field is often a plus.
• Experience: Experience in auto parts sales, auto repair, or inventory management.
• Skills: Strong communication, negotiation, organizational, customer service, and computer skills (inventory systems).
• Knowledge: Deep product knowledge of automotive parts and industry standards.
