Job Description
Lead Product Owner
About the Role
We are seeking a Product Owner Leader to anchor and lead our India-based PO team. This role is critical to ensuring alignment between global Product Management direction and engineering execution. You will be responsible for mentoring and managing the PO team, setting clear priorities, and removing obstacles to enable high-velocity delivery of high-impact features.
While individual POs will continue to collaborate closely with global PMs to define user stories and requirements, you will serve as their local leader, ensuring clarity, consistency, and execution excellence.
Key Responsibilities
Lead and manage a team of Product Owners based in India, including hiring, onboarding, performance reviews, and career development.
Act as the primary point of contact for the PO team, ensuring alignment with global PMs and engineering leads.
Drive prioritization across multiple product lines and ensure timely delivery of user stories and features.
Identify and remove blockers to ensure smooth execution and delivery.
Champion agile best practices, backlog hygiene, and sprint planning across the PO team.
Collaborate with engineering leadership to ensure technical feasibility and delivery alignment.
Contribute to strategic planning and process improvements across the product lifecycle.
Ensure consistent documentation and communication of product requirements and specifications.
Required Skills & Experience
Experience: 8+ years in product roles, with at least 2 years in a leadership or people management capacity
Proven experience in Agile & Scrum leadership, including backlog management and sprint execution.
Strong understanding of multi-tenant SaaS platforms, including configuration, scalability, and customer-specific workflows.
Experience working with API-first architectures and data integration strategies.
Exposure to AI/ML-driven product features and data-centric product development.
Excellent communication and stakeholder management skills across global teams.
Demonstrated ability to lead and mentor product teams in a fast-paced environment.
Preferred Qualifications
Experience in enterprise software domains such as EHS, ORM, or operational risk is a plus.
Familiarity with tools like Jira, Confluence, Azure DevOps, or similar.
Experience working in a global, matrixed organization.
Our Interview Practices
To maintain a fair and genuine hiring process, we kindly ask that all candidates participate in interviews without the assistance of AI tools or external prompts. Our interview process is designed to assess your individual skills, experiences, and communication style. We value authenticity and want to ensure we’re getting to know you—not a digital assistant. To help maintain this integrity, we ask to remove virtual backgrounds and include in-person interviews in our hiring process. Please note that use of AI-generated responses or third-party support during interviews will be grounds for disqualification from the recruitment process.
Applicants may be required to appear onsite at a Wolters Kluwer office as part of the recruitment process.
