Computer Hardware Technician

Job Description:

A Computer Hardware Technician is responsible for installing, maintaining, troubleshooting, and repairing computer systems and related hardware. The role ensures optimal performance of desktops, laptops, servers, printers, and networking devices while providing technical support to users.

Key Responsibilities:

Install, assemble, upgrade, and repair computer hardware and peripherals

Diagnose and troubleshoot hardware issues in desktops, laptops, and servers

Perform routine maintenance to ensure system reliability and performance

Install and configure operating systems and drivers

Replace faulty components such as hard drives, RAM, motherboards, and power supplies

Set up and maintain printers, scanners, and other peripheral devices

Provide technical support to end users and resolve hardware-related issues

Maintain inventory of hardware components and tools

Ensure data backup and system security during repairs

Document maintenance activities and repair reports

Skills & Qualifications:

Diploma or certification in Computer Hardware, IT, or related field

Strong knowledge of computer components and troubleshooting techniques

Familiarity with Windows, Linux, and basic networking concepts

Ability to diagnose problems quickly and efficiently

Good communication and customer service skills

Ability to work independently and as part of a team

Preferred Experience:

1–3 years of experience in hardware maintenance or technical support
