Job Summary

We are seeking an experienced Regional Procurement Manager – Rice to handle procurement operations across Maharashtra and Chhattisgarh. The role requires deep market understanding, strong broker coordination, rice quality expertise, and timely procurement execution aligned with shipment deadlines.

Key Responsibilities

• Manage end-to-end rice procurement operations in the assigned regions.

• Coordinate and follow up with brokers, traders, millers, and suppliers to ensure consistent supply.

• Possess strong knowledge of bag tagging, costing, and packaging specifications.

• Understand brand-wise market acceptance and clarity on “kis ka rice kis market mein chalta hai”.

• Ensure accurate identification of rice varieties, grades, and adherence to defined quality parameters.

• Monitor and control quality standards during procurement, storage, and dispatch.

• Gather market intelligence, including information on competitors, pricing trends, and who is supplying to whom.

• Develop and execute regional market procurement strategies based on demand and seasonality.

• Ensure timely procurement strictly as per shipment and delivery deadlines.

• Coordinate with logistics teams and have working knowledge of shipping line operations and container availability.

• Maintain strong relationships with stakeholders to ensure smooth and uninterrupted procurement flow.

Required Skills & Knowledge

• Minimum 10 years of hands-on experience in rice procurement.

• Strong understanding of rice varieties, quality parameters, and grading standards.

• Excellent broker management and negotiation skills.

• Practical knowledge of bag tagging, costing, and documentation.

• Good awareness of container stuffing, shipping lines, and logistics coordination.

• Ability to analyze market trends and take quick procurement decisions.

• Strong communication and follow-up skills.

Preferred Background

• Experience in rice trading, milling, or export-oriented companies.

• Familiarity with Maharashtra & Chhattisgarh rice markets.

• Exposure to export supply chains will be an added advantage.
