Deputy Manager - Procurement

Responsibilities & Key Deliverables

As Deputy Manager - Procurement within Mahindra & Mahindra Ltd's Automotive Division, you will take ownership of the end-to-end material procurement and planning processes for casting and forging parts critical to vehicle and aggregate production including engine, transmission, and axle components. Key deliverables include:

  • Material Procurement & Planning: Develop and execute precise procurement strategies for casting and forging materials, ensuring alignment with production schedules and inventory targets.
  • IT Tool Utilization: Employ advanced IT tools such as DBM, LTP, and MRP systems to facilitate accurate demand forecasting, capacity planning, and order management.
  • Supplier Capacity Planning & Collaboration: Assess supplier capabilities in relation to material demand, proactively identifying and escalating potential capacity gaps to maintain supply chain continuity.
  • Inventory Management: Optimize inventory levels to balance cost-efficiency with the risk of stockouts, applying robust processes to track and monitor stock movements.
  • Change Management: Lead and manage change initiatives within the Engineering (EN) process, ensuring seamless integration of process improvements and minimizing operational disruptions.
  • Cost Optimization: Drive cost-saving initiatives across packaging, material procurement, and logistics operations through innovative solution design and stakeholder coordination.
  • Packaging & Logistics Coordination: Collaborate with cross-functional teams to oversee packaging standards and logistics strategies that reduce costs and enhance supply chain efficiency.
  • Compliance & Quality Assurance: Ensure procurement activities comply with organizational policies and industry standards, contributing to continuous quality improvement.
