Job Summary:
The Junior Electrical Panel Design Engineer will assist in designing and developing electrical control panels used in industrial automation, power distribution, and process control systems. The role involves preparing electrical schematics, component selection, and ensuring compliance with standards under the supervision of senior engineers.
Key Responsibilities:
- Assist in designing electrical control panels (MCC, PCC, PLC, and automation panels) using CAD software (e.g., AutoCAD Electrical, EPLAN).
- Prepare electrical drawings, wiring diagrams, and bill of materials (BOM).
- Support in component selection (circuit breakers, relays, contactors, drives, PLCs, etc.) based on project specifications.
- Ensure all designs comply with IEC, IS, and client-specific standards.
- Coordinate with the production team to resolve design-related issues during manufacturing.
- Assist in performing load calculations, cable sizing, and short circuit calculations.
- Participate in design review meetings and implement feedback from senior engineers.
- Maintain documentation of design files, revisions, and technical records.
- Support in testing and inspection of panels before dispatch.
- Stay updated on new products, electrical components, and design tools.
Required Skills & Qualifications:
- Bachelor’s / Diploma in Electrical or Electronics Engineering.
- 0–2 years of experience in electrical panel design or a related field.
- Basic understanding of industrial automation, power distribution, and control systems.
- Familiarity with AutoCAD Electrical / EPLAN and MS Office tools.
- Knowledge of Schneider, Siemens, or ABB components
- Strong analytical and problem-solving skills.
- Good communication and teamwork abilities.
- Knowledge of wiring standards and panel layout practices and panel design.
