Job Description

Role Overview


The Store Supervisor will be responsible for managing the solar product inventory, maintaining accurate stock records, ensuring timely material movement, and handling all computer-based data management. Experience in Tally and knowledge of supply chain management is essential. The role requires coordination with vendors, sales teams, logistics partners, and project teams.


Key Responsibilities


1. Store & Inventory Management

·      Manage day-to-day store operations for solar panels, inverters, structures, wires, and accessories.

·      Monitor stock levels and maintain accuracy through regular physical verification.

·      Ensure proper storage, labeling, and safe handling of solar materials.

·      Track inward and outward movement of goods.


2. Computer & Data Management

·      Maintain digital stock records using Excel, Google Sheets, or other ERP tools.

·      Update purchase entries, goods received notes (GRN), delivery challans, and stock transfers.

·      Generate reports on stock, consumption, and fast-moving/slow-moving materials.

 

3. Tally Accounting

·      Enter purchase bills, sales invoices, and inventory details into Tally.

·      Manage stock groups, ledgers, and item-wise entries.

·      Coordinate with the accounts department for monthly reconciliation.

 

4. Supply Chain & Procurement Coordination

·      Assist in procurement by tracking pending orders and vendor deliveries.

·      Follow up with vendors for timely supply of materials.

·      Support logistics arrangements for dispatch to clients or project sites.

·      Ensure minimal delays and optimize inventory levels.

 

5. Documentation & Compliance

·      Maintain documents like purchase orders, delivery challans, warranty cards, test certificates, etc.

·      Prepare daily/weekly/monthly stock reports.

·      Ensure adherence to company policies and audit standards.

 

6. Team Coordination & Communication

·      Coordinate with sales, warehousing staff, project teams, and management.

·      Provide material availability updates and avoid stock-out situations.

·      Supervise helpers/store assistants as required.


Skills & Qualifications


·      Strong knowledge of inventory handling in trading or electrical/solar industry.

·      Proficiency in Tally ERP.

·      Good working knowledge of Excel / Google Sheets / basic ERP systems.

·      Understanding of solar components is a plus.
