Job Title: Electrical Commissioning Engineer
Job Summary:
We are seeking a highly skilled B.E. Electrical Engineer with strong experience in electrical and process commissioning, particularly in the fields of HVAC and Fluids. The ideal candidate will have at least 5-8 years of experience in commissioning activities, including installation, testing, and troubleshooting of electrical systems and equipment in industrial settings. The role requires the ability to work effectively in a dynamic environment, coordinating with multidisciplinary teams to ensure the successful commissioning of projects.
Key Responsibilities:
- Oversee and manage the electrical commissioning activities for HVAC, fluid systems, and related electrical infrastructure.
- Perform detailed inspections and testing of electrical systems, including low/medium/high voltage switchgear, transformers, generators, UPS systems, motor control centres (MCCs), power distribution, protection relays, and control systems.
- Coordinate with contractors, suppliers, and other stakeholders to ensure timely delivery and commissioning of electrical systems in compliance with design specifications.
- Conduct functional testing and troubleshooting of electrical equipment, machinery, and control systems, ensuring optimal performance.
- Review technical documents, including electrical drawings, specifications, and manuals, to ensure commissioning activities align with project requirements.
- Collaborate closely with process engineers, mechanical engineers, and other departments to ensure integrated commissioning of HVAC systems and fluid systems.
- Provide technical support during the installation phase, guiding the team in interpreting electrical drawings and specifications.
- Develop and maintain commissioning procedures, checklists, and reports to ensure quality standards are met.
- Ensure compliance with safety standards and industry regulations during all commissioning activities.
- Identify and resolve any issues that arise during the commissioning phase, ensuring minimal delays and adherence to project timelines.
- Prepare and submit commissioning reports and documentation as required for project handover.
Qualifications & Skills:
- Bachelor of Engineering (B.E.) in Electrical Engineering.
- Minimum 5-8 years of hands-on experience in electrical and process commissioning (HVAC and Fluids).
- Strong understanding of HVAC systems, fluid systems, and related electrical equipment.
- Experience with PLC systems, SCADA systems, and other automation/control systems.
- In-depth knowledge of electrical commissioning practices, testing, and troubleshooting.
- Proficiency in reading and interpreting electrical schematics, wiring diagrams, and P&IDs (Piping and Instrumentation Diagrams).
- Solid understanding of safety regulations, industry standards, and codes (e.g., IEC, NEC, etc.).
- Experience with commissioning documentation, reports, and quality control procedures.
- Strong communication and interpersonal skills to work with multidisciplinary teams and clients.
- Ability to troubleshoot and resolve complex electrical issues in a timely manner.
- Willingness to travel to project sites as required.
