Job Description

  • 💼 Key Responsibilities:1. Operational ManagementOversee daily gym operations (opening/closing, cleanliness, equipment upkeep, etc.).
  • Ensure compliance with health and safety regulations.
  • Monitor gym usage and manage scheduling of fitness classes or personal training sessions.
  • Handle member inquiries, feedback, and complaints promptly.
  • 2. Staff ManagementRecruit, train, and supervise staff (trainers, receptionists, cleaners, etc.).
  • Create staff rotas and ensure adequate coverage at all times.
  • Conduct performance reviews and provide coaching or disciplinary actions if necessary.
  • Foster a positive, motivated, and professional work environment.
  • 3. Customer Service & Member RetentionEnsure a welcoming, friendly atmosphere for all members.
  • Manage new member onboarding and orientation.
  • Handle member retention strategies — follow-ups, feedback surveys, loyalty programs.
  • Resolve member issues or conflicts professionally.
  • 4. Financial ManagementManage budgets, including payroll, maintenance, and marketing expenses.
  • Track revenue, memberships, and financial performance.
  • Implement strategies to increase sales and profitability.
  • Prepare monthly or quarterly performance and financial reports.
  • 5. Sales & MarketingDevelop and execute marketing campaigns (social media, local partnerships, promotions).
  • Organize events (open days, fitness challenges, charity events).
  • Work with local businesses and community groups to increase visibility.
  • Set and meet membership sales targets.
  • 6. Facility & Equipment MaintenanceEnsure gym equipment is well-maintained, safe, and functional.
  • Schedule regular maintenance and coordinate with suppliers or technicians.
  • Maintain a clean and organized facility.
  • 7. Health, Safety & ComplianceImplement and monitor adherence to health and safety protocols.
  • Ensure all staff are trained in emergency and safety procedures.
  • Keep records of accidents, incidents, and maintenance logs.
  • 8. Reporting & AdministrationManage membership databases and billing systems.
  • Produce performance reports (attendance, sales, expenses).
  • Handle administrative paperwork and correspondence.
