StartWell is a nutrition-focused school tiffin service that delivers fresh, balanced meals to children across Mumbai and Navi Mumbai. Our meals are designed by nutritionists and freshly prepared daily in our central kitchen at Turbhe.

Role Overview:

The Commis Chef will assist in the preparation and cooking of daily meals under the guidance of the Head Chef and Kitchen Supervisor. Depending on experience (Commis 1 / 2 / 3), the role includes responsibility for specific sections of the kitchen such as Indian, Continental, or Prep.

Key Responsibilities:

• Prepare ingredients and assist in cooking as per standardized recipes.
• Maintain hygiene and food safety standards as per FSSAI norms.
• Handle mise en place, portioning, and storage correctly.
• Ensure consistency, taste, and presentation across all meals.
• Support smooth kitchen operations during peak hours.
• Maintain cleanliness of workstation and assist in closing duties.
• Report shortages, wastage, and maintenance issues promptly.

Requirements:

• 1–4 years of experience in a professional kitchen (hotel/restaurant/catering).
• Basic knowledge of Indian and Continental cuisine preferred.
• Should be punctual, disciplined, and willing to learn.

Salary Range:

Commis 1: ₹22,000–₹27,000/month

Commis 2: ₹18,000–₹22,000/month

Commis 3: ₹14,000–₹18,000/month
