Job Summary

We are looking for a seasoned Procurement Manager with 15–17 years of experience in the engineering/manufacturing sector to independently lead and manage the entire procurement function. The role demands strong technical understanding of engineering materials, hands-on vendor management, and a proven ability to drive cost optimisation and strategic purchasing.

The ideal candidate should be capable of owning end-to-end procurement operations, vendor development, price negotiations, and purchase planning in alignment with production and project requirements.

Key Responsibilities

Independently lead and manage the procurement function, including the purchase team.

Source and procure engineering materials.

Interpret engineering drawings and BOMs to understand material specifications and purchase requirements.

Conduct vendor scouting, development, and onboarding to build a reliable supplier base.

Negotiate pricing, payment terms, lead times, and contracts to ensure cost competitiveness and quality compliance.

Identify and implement cost-reduction and value-engineering initiatives across procurement.

Maintain strong awareness of metal market trends, pricing movements, and supplier dynamics.

Manage procurement for job-work and outsourced processes as required

Prepare and maintain procurement MIS, including:

Purchase cost analysis

Vendor performance reports

Savings and negotiation impact

Evaluate and monitor vendor performance on quality, delivery, and commercial terms.

Coordinate closely with production, design, and finance teams to ensure timely material availability and budget adherence.

Lead, mentor, and develop a team of purchase and procurement executives.

Travel as required for vendor visits, audits, negotiations, and sourcing activities.

Ensure adherence to company procurement policies and industry compliance standards.

Skills & Competencies

Strong technical knowledge of engineering materials and manufacturing processes

Excellent ability to read and interpret mechanical drawings

Proven expertise in vendor negotiation and cost optimisation

Strong understanding of metal and raw material markets

Leadership skills with experience managing procurement teams
