Job Description

Job Title: Purchase Manager

Industry: Construction Chemicals / Admixtures

Location: Head Office

Experience: 2–10 Years (preferred)

Job SummaryThe Purchase Manager will be responsible for planning, sourcing, negotiating, and procuring raw materials, packaging materials, and services required for manufacturing construction chemicals and admixtures. The role ensures cost efficiency, quality compliance, timely availability, and strong vendor relationships.

  • Key ResponsibilitiesPlan and execute purchase of raw materials, chemicals, additives, packaging, and consumables
  • Identify, evaluate, and develop reliable vendors and suppliers
  • Negotiate price, payment terms, delivery schedules, and contracts
  • Coordinate with Production, QC, R&D, Stores, and Accounts departments
  • Ensure timely material availability as per production planning
  • Monitor inventory levels, avoid shortages and excess stock
  • Ensure materials meet quality, safety, and compliance standards
  • Prepare and manage purchase orders (POs), GRNs, and documentation
  • Track market trends, price fluctuations, and alternate sourcing options
  • Control procurement costs and support budget planning
  • Ensure compliance with GST, statutory, and company procurement policies
  • Handle vendor performance reviews and resolve supply issues
  • Required QualificationsB.Com / BBA / B.Sc / B.Tech (Chemical / Civil / Mechanical preferred)
  • MBA (Operations / Supply Chain / Procurement) – added advantage
  • Certifications in Procurement / Supply Chain are a plus
  • Experience & SkillsProven experience in construction chemicals, admixtures, paints, or chemical manufacturing
  • Strong knowledge of chemical raw materials & packaging
  • Excellent negotiation and vendor management skills
  • Knowledge of inventory management & ERP systems
  • Understanding of quality standards and material specifications
  • Good communication, analytical, and decision-making skills
  • Reporting ToFactory Head / Operations Head / Management
  • Key Performance Indicators (KPIs)Cost savings achieved
  • On-time material availability
