Job Description
ABOUT THE ROLE
We are looking for an experienced Restaurant & Bar Manager to lead day-to-day operations at our resto bar in Navi Mumbai. The ideal candidate is a hands-on leader who thrives in a fast-paced hospitality environment, has a passion for delivering exceptional guest experiences, and brings strong commercial acumen to drive revenue and profitability.
KEY RESPONSIBILITIES
Operations & Floor Management
- Oversee daily restaurant and bar operations, ensuring smooth service from opening to closing.
- Manage reservations, walk-ins, table allocations, and peak-hour crowd management.
- Maintain high standards of cleanliness, hygiene, and presentation across all areas.
- Ensure compliance with FSSAI regulations, excise/liquor licensing laws, and all local statutory requirements.
- Coordinate with the kitchen team to ensure timely and accurate order delivery.
Team Leadership & HR
- Recruit, train, schedule, and manage a team of servers, bartenders, hosts, and support staff.
- Conduct regular briefings, performance reviews, and on-the-job coaching sessions.
- Foster a positive, motivated work culture with low attrition.
- Manage staff rosters and ensure adequate manpower during events and peak hours.
Revenue & Cost Control
- Monitor daily sales, track targets, and implement upselling strategies to maximize covers and revenue.
- Manage bar inventory — procurement, stock reconciliation, wastage control, and vendor negotiations.
- Oversee food and beverage cost percentages and take corrective action where needed.
- Prepare daily/weekly MIS reports on revenue, covers, and key cost metrics for the management.
Guest Experience
- Ensure every guest receives warm, attentive, and professional service throughout their visit.
- Handle escalated guest complaints swiftly and with empathy, ensuring resolution and retention.
- Monitor and respond to online reviews (Zomato, Google, Swiggy) in coordination with the owner.
- Drive repeat visits through loyalty, recognition of regulars, and personalized service.
Events & Promotions
- Plan and execute promotional activities.
- Coordinate with the marketing team for social media content, offers, and campaigns.
- Manage private dining bookings, corporate events, and large group reservations.
REQUIREMENTS
- Minimum 3–6 years of experience in restaurant/bar operations, with at least 2 years in a managerial role.
- Prior experience managing a resto bar, lounge, or casual dining outlet preferred.
- Strong knowledge about inventory management & excise regulations
- Proficiency in POS systems (Menson).
- Familiarity with FSSAI compliance, excise regulations in Maharashtra, and fire/safety norms.
- Excellent communication and interpersonal skills — fluency in English and Hindi required; Marathi is a plus.
- Strong leadership presence with the ability to manage a team of 10–25 staff members.
- Ability to work evenings, weekends, and public holidays as required.
