Job Description
Role Overview: The Service Engineer will be responsible for installation, preventive maintenance, breakdown servicing, and technical support of medical electronic equipment including medical lasers, microwave therapy/ablation systems, and X-ray imaging devices, ensuring high equipment uptime and compliance with safety and regulatory standards.
- Key Responsibilities: Install, commission, and validate medical devices at customer sites.
- Perform preventive maintenance and calibration as per OEM protocols.
- Diagnose and repair equipment faults at module and PCB level.
- Ensure compliance with electrical, laser, and radiation safety norms.
- Maintain service records, PM reports, and installation documentation.
- Train hospital staff on safe operation and basic troubleshooting.
- Coordinate spare parts usage and service logistics.
- Provide on-site and remote technical support to customers.
- Eligibility & Qualifications: Diploma / BE / BTech in Electronics, Biomedical, Electrical, or Instrumentation Engineering.
- Relevant technical certification in medical equipment servicing is an advantage.
- Experience0–2 years: Trainee / Junior Service Engineer (training provided)
- 2–5 years: Field service experience in medical devices preferred (training provided)
- Exposure to lasers, RF/microwave systems, or X-ray equipment is desirable.
- Technical Skills: Electronics troubleshooting (analog, digital, SMPS, power circuits)
- Understanding of high-voltage, RF, and optical systems
- Use of diagnostic tools: multimeter, oscilloscope, power meters
- Ability to read schematics and service manuals
- Personal Attributes: Willingness to travel extensively
- Strong communication and customer-handling skills
- Safety-oriented and detail-focused
- Ability to work independently in clinical environments
