Job Role

The role of a Solar Technician is to carry out following activities

1. Installation of photovoltaic (PV) panels and related equipment’s, ensuring proper alignment and connection to electrical systems.
2. Diagnose and repair malfunctioning in solar energy systems, panels, inverters, and other components.
3. Carry out operation and maintenance work of solar energy systems, including photovoltaic (PV) panels and other BOS related to the systems. 
4. Carry out technical due diligence of the projects with respect to technical parameters and physical plant installation at site.
5. Ensure adherence to SOP’s, quality standards and regulations which are crucial for plant performance and sustainability of the project.
6. Report insights on the quality, progress and maintainability of the plant life cycle to the team lead and prepare site visit reports.

Key Responsibilities

1. Must have good understanding the blueprints and schematics of the layout.
2. Measuring up areas for installation as per the layout design.
3. Carry out physical inspection of PV Panels and Solar equipment’s / accessories at site.
4. Install solar panels, inverters, and other necessary equipment as per layout.
5. Grounding electrical equipment and checking wiring adhering to all safety and technical standards.
6. Conducting operational tests, repairs and troubleshooting on installed solar projects.
7. Perform routine maintenance and effective troubleshooting of solar projects.
8. Maintaining records of maintenance, installation and operation procedures for each site.
9. Eye for critical evaluating parameters / benchmarks / standards during installation and assessments of ongoing solar projects.
10. Prepare visit report for each site with pictorial data, detailing technical observations on site conditions and system performance.
11. Open to travel to sites on day-to-day assignments.

Skills and Attributes

1. Knowledge on current emerging technology and techniques in PV systems, PV technologies in solar installation.
2. This role not only requires technical skills but also physical stamina and the ability to work at heights, often in extreme weather conditions.
3. Problem-solving skills, attention to detail, and the ability to work as part of a team or as solo performer.
4. Should be able to communication in Hindi / English with team lead and explain technically.
5. Basic computer literacy to write report in word (Ms office).
