Structural Design Engineer

Structural Engineer – BMU Design & Analysis | Job SummaryStructural Engineer with specialized experience in the design, analysis, and calculation of Building Maintenance Unit (BMU) systems for high-rise and complex façade projects. Proficient in structural analysis software such as STAAD.Pro and advanced simulation-based load assessment, ensuring full compliance with EN 1808:2015, IS codes, and international façade-access safety standards.

• Key ResponsibilitiesPerform structural analysis and design of BMU systems including monorail, davit, cradle, jib, mast, and track-supported systems.
• Develop STAAD.Pro models for BMU steel structures, support frames, brackets, rails, and anchorage systems.
• Calculate dead load, live load, wind load, dynamic effects, and operational load combinations.
• Carry out anchor bolt design, base plate design, weld checks, and embedment calculations.
• Conduct combined tension & shear checks for anchors using manufacturer data (Fischer / Hilti).
• Perform deflection, stability, and serviceability checks as per code requirements.
• Simulate worst-case operating conditions including eccentric loading, outreach conditions, and wind effects.
• Prepare structural calculation reports, load summaries, and compliance statements for consultant/client approval.
• Coordinate with façade consultants, architects, and site teams to resolve fixing and constructability issues.
• Review shop drawings and provide structural inputs for fabrication and installation.
• Support load testing, DP testing, and TPI inspections with technical documentation.
