Role Summary:

To empower students by aligning their academic journeys with future-proof career strategies, leveraging data-driven assessments and industry insights to facilitate successful transitions into the workforce.

1. Key ResponsibilitiesA modern counsellor's duties are divided into three core pillars: Individualized Guidance, Industry Integration, and Digital Literacy.

• Career Design & Mapping: Conduct 1-on-1 sessions to develop customized "Career Success Plans" that include academic choices, micro-credentials, and long-term goals.
• Assessment & Analytics: Administer and interpret psychometric and aptitude tests (e.g., Holland Code, MBTI, or 2026-specific tools like SkillsGraph) to identify student strengths.
• Employability Coaching: Provide expert training in personal branding, LinkedIn optimization, AI-assisted resume building, and immersive mock interviews.
• Employer Relations: Act as a liaison between the institution and hiring partners to secure internships, apprenticeships, and "industry-shadowing" opportunities.
• Workshops & Seminars: Organize "Future of Work" sessions focusing on emerging trends like Green Economy roles, AI ethics, and remote-work soft skills.
• Diversity & Inclusion: Provide specialized support for international students, neurodivergent learners, and first-generation college students to ensure equitable career outcomes.

2. Required QualificationsIn 2026, many educational boards (like CBSE in India or state boards in the US) have standardized these requirements.

• Education: Bachelor’s degree in Psychology, Education, or Social Work (Mandatory). A Master’s degree in Counselling Psychology or a PG Diploma in Career Guidance is highly preferred.
• Certifications: Professional certification from recognized bodies (e.g., NCDA, GCDF, or ICCC).
